Another one of Meghan Markle’s stories during the interview she and Prince Harry did with Oprah Winfrey has failed the smell test. Their marriage certificate shows they were not legally wed prior to their official wedding at Windsor Castle.
Meghan told Oprah that she and Harry got married three days before the world watched.
Here’s the snippet of the Oprah interview where Meghan talks about being married early:
During the tell-all interview with Oprah, Markle said: “You know, three days before our wedding, we got married. No one knows that. The vows that we have framed in our room are just the two of us in our backyard with the Archbishop of Canterbury.”
She claimed Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby married them in a private ceremony without any guests at Nottingham Cottage, which was their home at Kensington Palace.

Marriage Certificate Shows Early Wedding Claim Is False
But, that story was proven to be false. The General Register Office released the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s marriage certificate.
That states the marriage began May 19, 2018 as people across the globe tuned in to see the American actress become a member of the Royal Family.

Stephen Borton, former chief clerk at the Faculty Office, drew up the special license to allow the couple to marry at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Palace.
He denied Markle’s claim about an earlier wedding.
“They did not marry three days earlier in front of the Archbishop of Canterbury,” Borton said.
“What I suspect they did was exchange some simple vows they had perhaps written themselves, and which is fashionable, and said that in front of the Archbishop — or, and more likely, it was a simple rehearsal,” the former chief clerk continued.
He suggested that Meghan is “clearly misinformed” and “clearly confused” regarding her wedding.
Nottingham Cottage was not even an authorized venue for the wedding. Nor were there the appropriate number of witnesses to validate any early nuptials.
A spokesman for the Archbishop of Canterbury said he would not be commenting on the matter.
Piers Morgan Responds To Marriage News
Former “Good Morning Britain” host Piers Morgan took this latest development to ask an important question.
He was criticized for questioning Meghan Markle’s accusations about the Royal Family.
Now some of her stories are crumbling under scrutiny. Piers Morgan wants to know if we still have to believe the American actress.

This certainly further vindicates Piers Morgan’s criticism of the Duke and Duchess’s interview.
Ratings for “Good Morning Britain” tanked following his sudden departure from the show after Meghan Markle herself complained about Morgan’s refusal to accept her story.
