Meghan Markle And Prince Harry’s Oprah Interview Backfires As Their Popularity Plummets
A new poll shows that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's popularity is tanking just a week after their tell-all interview with Oprah.
One week after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry sat down with Oprah Winfrey for an explosive tell-all interview, it appears to have blown up in their faces. A new poll shows their popularity has plummeted.
Meghan And Harry’s Popularity Plummets
A YouGov survey that was released on Friday showed that 48 percent of Britons view Harry negatively, while 45 see him positively at the current moment.
This is the first time that Harry’s approval rating has fallen below 50 percent and is a 15-point net drop just since March 2, according to The Hill.
The poll was even worse for Meghan. It showed that only 31 percent of United Kingdom residents support her, while 58 percent disapprove of her.
Her popularity has decreased 14 points since the interview aired.
When looking at different age groups, the poll showed that the majority of young people ages 18 to 24 view the couple positively. And, most people over the age of 65 view them negatively.

This comes just over a week after Meghan and Harry made a series of shocking claims in the interview.
Meghan claimed to Oprah that she was hit with racism from within the royal family.
She said that an unnamed senior royal questioned how dark her then-unborn son Archie’s skin would be.
Harry refused to name this family member, only saying that it was neither Queen Elizabeth nor Prince Philip.
Meghan also claimed that she felt so isolated as a royal that she considered committing suicide at one point during her pregnancy.
Royal Family Responds
The royal family responded two days after the explosive interview giving a brief statement released by Buckingham Palace.
“The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan,” the royal family said in a statement obtained by Fox News.
“The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning,” they added. “While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.”
The Queen Is ‘Privately Devastated’
Royal author Katie Nicholl wrote for Vanity Fair that 94-year-old Queen Elizabeth is “privately devastated” by the interview.
“The queen, who has never given a formal media interview, is said to be privately devastated by the shocking revelations and the potential damage to the reputation of the Royal Family.” Nicholl wrote.
“She is also deeply concerned for Prince Philip, who remains in the hospital recovering from a heart procedure,” she added.
We’re glad to see that most of the United Kingdom supports the Queen, as she needs the loyalty of her subjects now more than ever.
Surely Meghan and Harry realize that their revelations would be harmful to the Queen. It’s no wonder their popularity is declining.
