Brad Pitt Accused Of Choking His Own Child By Ex-Wife Angelina Jolie As Bitter Divorce Escalates

The bitter divorce battle between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie has taken a fairly dark turn, with the actress accusing her ex-husband of “choking” one of their children and hitting another in the face during a private plane trip.

Daily Mail reported that Jolie, 47, filed shocking court papers on Tuesday in which she accused Pitt, 58, of physically abusing and traumatizing their children during the private jet flight from France to California back in September of 2016. Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt just five days later, and they’ve been battling it out in court ever since.

Jolie sold her stake in the French winery she co-owned with Pitt in September of last year, and he sued her over the sale. Jolie’s counter-sued him on Tuesday with this filing in which she blamed him for their continued public legal battle.

“She has gone to great lengths to try to shield their children from reliving the pain Pitt inflicted on the family that day,” Jolie’s lawyers claimed. “But when Pitt filed this lawsuit seeking to reassert control over Jolie’s financial life and compel her to rejoin her ex-husband as a frozen-out business partner, Pitt forced Jolie to publicly defend herself on these issues for the first time.”

Jolie Makes Abuse Claims Against Pitt

In her filing, Jolie said that their marriage “came to an end” on the flight in question, which took place on September 14, 2016. 

“Throughout the long, overnight flight, Pitt was physically and emotionally abusive to Jolie and their children, who were then between the ages of 8 and 15,” her attorneys alleged in the court documents. “After that flight, for her family’s well-being, Jolie decided to file for divorce.”

Jolie went on to claim that Pitt “had a confrontation” with one of their children on this flight. Upon asking her then-husband what was wrong, the actor allegedly “accused her of being too deferential to the children and verbally attacked her.”

Jolie makes the claim that things got physical just 90 minutes into the flight. 

Court documents allege that the actor “pulled her into the bathroom and began yelling at her,” further claiming, “Pitt grabbed Jolie by the head and shook her, and then grabbed her shoulders and shook her again before pushing her into the bathroom wall. Pitt then punched the ceiling of the plane numerous times, prompting Jolie to leave the bathroom.”

Jolie claims that Pitt began verbally insulting her. When the children tried to defend her, the actor reportedly “lunged” at one of them, prompting the actress to grab him in an attempt to stop him.

“To get Jolie off his back, Pitt threw himself backwards into the airplane’s seats injuring Jolie’s back and elbow,” according to the court papers. “The children rushed in and all bravely tried to protect each other.”

“Before it was over, Pitt choked one of the children and struck another in the face,” Jolie’s attorneys allege. “Some of the children pleaded with Pitt to stop. They were all frightened. Many were crying.”

Pitt’s Allegedly Poured Alcohol On Family

Jolie alleges that she and the children “sat still and silent under blankets” for the rest of the flight “to avoid Pitt’s wrath.”

“Nobody dared to go to the bathroom. Pitt periodically emerged from the back of the plane to yell and swear at them,” wrote her lawyers. “At one point, he poured beer on Jolie; at another, he poured beer and red wine on the children. After many tense hours, Pitt finally fell asleep.”

When the plane finally landed, Jolie woke Pitt up to inform him that she and the children would be going to a hotel instead of their home, and she claims he did not take this well. 

“He shouted that nobody was getting off the plane and prevented the family from deplaning for about 20 minutes,” the court documents state. “After a child intervened and demanded to leave, Pitt finally relented.

“But once outside the plane door, Pitt again physically abused one of their children,” the documents continue. “He also grabbed and shook Jolie by the head and shoulders, causing one of the children to beg, ‘Don’t hurt her.’ He let Jolie go, but then called her a ‘b****,’ before adding, ‘F*** you, f*** you all.'”

The FBI later investigated this, but decided not to file any charges. Earlier this year, Jolie sued the FBI for this, demanding to know why the probe into Pitt was dropped. In this suit, she asked for a copy of the department’s investigative file to gain a “better understanding the FBI’s investigation and obtaining information necessary for her children to receive medical care and trauma counseling.”

Pitt Fires Back Through Source

Pitt has denied the allegations made by Jolie, with an unnamed source close to the actor declaring, “She continues to rehash, revise and reimagine her description of an event that happened six years ago by adding completely untrue information each time she fails to get what she wants. Her story is constantly evolving.”

“She had the chance to share this during the lengthy custody trial, which resulted in the judge granting 50-50 custody to Pitt following in-depth observations and analysis by doctors, therapists, and other experts,” the insider added. “Her and her team go back to the same thing month after month with new and false information.”

Though Jolie and Pitt have officially been divorced since 2019, their divorce battle has continued on in court, with them arguing over property, custody of their six children, and other things. Jolie’s latest filing indicates that their divorce is only getting more bitter with time, which cannot be easy for their children to endure.

Here’s hoping that Jolie and Pitt are able to settle their differences and stop going after each other so publicly and bitterly, for the sake of their kids.
