– Two Impact Wrestling superstars will have to make an important decision later this summer. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter states that the contracts for LAX’s Ortiz and Santana expire this season. There is interest from WWE and All Elite Wrestling (AEW) about signing the duo.
Ortiz and Santana have been heavily featured on Impact Wrestling since their debut and they have held the tag titles on a few occasions. As of now, they are the current champions but that could change at the upcoming Slammiversary pay per view.
AEW is looking to build their roster with some names that are still young, which is is the opposite of what WCW did. With AEW creating such a buzz so quickly, WWE is offering lots of money to wrestlers to avoid less competition. Impact Wrestling does not want to lose Ortiz and Santana, so they could always make them an offer. The problem for Impact Wrestling is that WWE and AEW can easily offer more money and already have better TV deals to promote their talent.
– If you noticed that Braun Strowman has been moving around slowly, you are not alone. The RAW superstar’s knees have been in bad shape for sometime and the pain seems to be increasing.
During the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted he did not know the exact injury going on, but it was obvious that Strowman is hurt. One of the Strowman’s main spots would be running around the tackling his opponent. Now, Strowman does not even sprint around the ring and basically delivers a quick bodycheck.Â
The last few months have seen Strowman work a program with Bobby Lashley over who is the strongest. They have wrestled a few times, with Strowman getting the pin at Super ShowDown. Neither is currently booked for Extreme Rules in two weeks, but there is a decent chance WWE could put a match together with some sort of gimmick attached.
There is no word if Strowman will take time off and/or require surgery.Â
