WWE used Paul Heyman and the promise to turn heel to help lure Roman Reigns back to TV. And, there is a special shirt out featuring Road Warrior Animal; with all the profits going to his family.

How WWE Lured Roman Reigns

SummerSlam’s tagline promised ‘you’ll never see it coming’ and they had a big idea planned. Roman Reigns appeared after the main event, laying waste to The Fiend Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman.

Less than a week later, SmackDown closed with Reigns revealing Paul Heyman as the Special Counsel to the Tribal Chief. In the process, Reigns turned heel.

The move was shocking and something fans had wanted for years.

At the time, fans had not seen Reigns since late March. Due to COVID-19, he pulled out of his WrestleMania 36 title match about 10 days out.

Paul Heyman’s Role

While speaking to Corey Graves on After The Bell, Reigns reveled that WWE likely used Heyman to lure him back.

“It’s just something I wanted to do,” said Reigns. “I mean it was an opportunity to be able to connect a lot of dots.”

“It was kind of a lure I guess to get me back in, but it was for me to know I wanted to go down this route I just felt like I needed something. I didn’t want to just show up and look different and talk different.”

“I wanted a whole new presentation and we’re gonna continue to gradually do that. But, I thought you know what better way than to align myself with essentially a high-powered attorney.”

So far, there have been no complaints about Reigns as WWE’s top heel. He has and will continue to slightly tweak his character as WWE heads in a new direction.

With Brock Lesnar’s return uncertain due to travel restrictions, WWE has found another direction for Reigns. Although, when Lesnar returns, it will be interesting to see how Heyman fits into the situation.

Help Road Warrior Animal’s Family

Only days ago, the wrestling world lost Road Warrior Animal (real name Joseph Michael Laurinaitis). He was 60 years old and the death is currently listed as natural causes.

With his passing, so ends any hybrid version of the Road Warriors. For many, they considered Animal and Hawk one of the greatest tag teams in pro wrestling.

Now, Collar & Elbow has released a special shirt to honor Road Warrior Animal. They are working directly with Road Warrior Animal’s widow.

100% of the profits will go to his family. There is no word on how many shirts are being produced, so do wait to make the purchase.
