Why Jelly Roll Doesn’t Perform Overseas

You weren’t the only one wondering why Jelly Roll doesn’t perform overseas. Jon Bon Jovi asked him in a recent sit-down if he’s taken his show international.

The truth is, he can’t, and there’s a very simple reason why. In fact, it’s even tied up in his identity and rise to fame:

Jelly Roll is a felon.

But that doesn’t mean he never will. Rather, as he told Bon Jovi, he’s actively working on a resolution to the problem.

“I’m so excited,” Jelly Roll said. “We’re figuring out the final pieces of some legal puzzles for me to get overseas.”

And America isn’t to blame, either. Instead, there’s a host of foreign countries who won’t accept felons, even if they have an American passport, as Jelly Roll does.

“It’s funny, America has finally agreed to let me leave and give me a passport, but some countries won’t let me come because of my felonies,” the country music sensation said. “We’re working on that. I think it’s going to work in my favor.”

And so, Dear Overseas Jelly Roll Fan – it’s up to you to pressure your governments if you want to see the big man live an in living color!

Jelly Roll’s History

Jelly Roll took the world by storm last year with a passionate speech while accepting the Country Music Artist Award for New Artist of the Year.

In his speech, he talked about the importance of never giving up, no matter where you currently are or what has happened to you in the past.

Take a watch:

Jelly Roll admitted his troubled past in an interview with Billboard in 2023. He relayed that when he was a minor, he was charged as an adult for aggravated robbery and possession with intent to sell.

The legal trouble cost him a year in the pen and almost a decade of probation, and made him a felon.

Jelly Roll’s story is truly an uplifting one. It’s a reminder that everyone has a past, and in some instances, if we work hard enough, we can overcome it for a brighter future.
