After six years, Rey’s story is finally going to be told. Unfortunately, it won’t be from a movie, TV show, or even a comic. A new Audible story in the Star Wars franchise called The Jaws of Jakku will be responsible for Rey’s missing story. Here is everything you need to know.

Since Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was released in 2019, the sequel trilogy has been largely explored. There have been recent comics that explored Kylo Ren’s story between The Last Jedi and his death. And now Rey will finally get the same treatment.

Lucasfilm Press announced the new Audible story, The Jaws of Jakku, recently, saying that it will be available on October 9. The story was written by Cavan Scott and will be narrated by Hele Sadler, set in the aftermath of The Last Jedi.
The official synopsis of The Jaws of Jakku reads: “Following the events of The Last Jedi, Rey struggles to let go of her lonely childhood on the desert planet of Jakku. Hoping to have a breakthrough in her Jedi training, she returns to her home world with Finn and BB-8 in tow. When they meet a young girl on a dangerous mission to save her family, they travel through pitch-black tunnels beneath the sand where they encounter scurrying gnaw-jaws, a haunting terror from the past, and maybe—just maybe—hope for them all.”
Rey’s return to Jakku might be unexpected, but it’s more important than viewers might think. The planet is revealed to have hidden observatories, with several hints that Palpatine loyalists tried to perform a ritual there to resurrect him. With that being said, Rey will likely stumble upon this during her time there.

The Audible story The Jaws of Jakku will follow the events of The Last Jedi, as Rey returns to Jakku alongside Finn and BB-8. The trio will encounter a young girl on a mission to save her family and embark on an adventure beneath the planet’s sands. Currently, there is a five-minute sample of the story available, but the story will be just under four hours of content.
Make sure to mark your calendars for October 9 to get your hands on Rey’s missing story in The Jaws of Jakku.
