For fans of the hit British historical crime drama, Peaky Blinders, it’s time to dive back into the world with the upcoming Netflix movie The Immortal Man. And this is evertyhing we know about the film, including the most recent release update.

Directed by Tom Harper and written by series creator Steven Knight, The Immortal Man is the long-awaited next chapter in Tommy Shelby’s story will follow the character during World War II. And of course, the movie will star Cillian Murphy.
In addition to his leading role, the film will feature a host of new and returning actors, including Rebecca Ferguson, Barry Keoghan, Stephen Graham, Tim Roth, Ned Dennehy, and Packy Lee.
But while the movie was thought to release at the end of 2025, it’s now looking like it will release at some point next year in 2026 on Netflix.
“I’m genuinely thrilled that this movie is about to happen,” Steven Knight said about his thoughts on the movie. “It will be an explosive chapter in the Peaky Blinders story. No Holds barred. Full-on Peaky Blinders at war.”
Harper also shared his thoughts about the movie. “When I first directed Peaky Blinders over 10 years ago, we didn’t know what the series would become, but we did know that there was something in the alchemy of the cast and the writing that felt explosive. Peaky has always been a story about family — and so it’s incredibly exciting to be reuniting with Steve and Cillian to bring the movie to audiences across the world on Netflix.”
Murphy, who finished filming the movie last December, spoke about his role in The Immortal Man, saying that he hasn’t fully processed his Shelby return yet. “I did not work out that I’ve been playing the character for a quarter of my life, which is kind of mad.”
