A pregnant woman chased down and ran over a man she suspected of stealing her purse in the parking lot of an Asheville, N.C., Walmart on Thursday, serving up some immediate justice.

In the video of the incident, you can actually see the moment her SUV runs over him like a speed bump. Ouch! She didn’t care much about his well being. He obviously didn’t care about her and her baby. She wanted her purse back!

The woman, 26-year-old Christine Braswell, said she initially chased the purse thief on foot before taking off after him in her vehicle. Talk about taking justice into your own hands:

“He was with my purse and he took off and I took off after him,” Braswell told WLOS.

“Me being five months pregnant, I chased a little ways then come back, jumped in the car, threw it in gear and come across the curb and ran him over.”

She added, “I was not going to let him get away with it. It’s not right, it’s not fair.”

Perhaps the purse snatcher thought Braswell was an easy target because she was pregnant, but this man quickly learned that he was wrong. Her SUV more than leveled the playing field and caused him a world of pain. He should have known that Walmart shoppers weren’t going to stand for this sort of behavior.

The thief – later identified as Robert Raines – was taken to the hospital with minor injuries before being taken to jail. Both parties are facing charges, however, Raines with felony breaking and entering, larceny, and misdemeanor damage to property, and Braswell with misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon.
