Not properly wearing a mask in New York City can get you thrown to the ground, handcuffed, and arrested. It doesn’t even matter if your young child is there to witness it all. That’s the message from a video of one mom’s arrest by a large group of NYPD and MTA officers for her mask etiquette in a New York City subway station this week.
Mom Arrested After She And Toddler Wear Masks ‘Improperly’ On Subway
22-year-old Kaleemah Rozier and her toddler both have masks in the video. But their masks did not provide them with cover from New York’s stringent requirements during the coronavirus era.
A video of Rozier’s shocking encounter with NYPD is getting a lot of attention because it’s simply stunning to imagine this happening in America.

The woman got upset when she was approached by multiple police officers. She swore at them as she and her toddler were led up the stairs.
When an officer attempted to touch her shoulder, she yelled “Don’t touch me!” and swung back.
Within seconds, several officers brought the mom down to the ground right while her toddler stood there helplessly watching.
“She’s got a kid with her! She’s got a baby with her!… She’s got her mask on! Her baby’s even got a mask on! That’s too much, man!,” a bystander yelled.
The dramatic video can be watched in the tweet below.

Subsequent reports say Rozier was “charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and harassment, and given a desk appearance ticket.”
New York Power Grab
New York has been the epicenter of the pandemic in the United States.
Governor Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Bill DeBlasio’s slow approach to stem the spread has led to what many perceive to be a power grab in the Big Apple.
Isn’t arresting this mom even more of an issue than her not properly wearing a mask?
The police officers certainly aren’t practicing social distancing when they have to enforce such restrictive laws. So isn’t that helping to spread coronavirus?
Also, how is the government able to tell Americans what and how we can can and can’t wear on our faces. And what about the police officers who are forced to make these arrests?
Criminals are being released from prison to prevent them from getting coronavirus in such tight quarters.
Of course, the irony is that the public is being put in danger with an influx of newly released prisoners.
All the while, generally law abiding citizens are arrested or reprimanded for not wearing masks or opening their business before the government has permitted it.

There are pictures of police officers and elected officials improperly wearing their masks. When will they be arrested or do these restrictions only apply to the general population while they get a pass?
Here are four NYPD Transit cops from an NYPD tweet. The one front in the center has his mask pulled down below his nose, thus wearing it improperly. But nobody slammed him on his face. https://t.co/0mhvUWDKa5 pic.twitter.com/tLloqduVjx

This video of NYPD and MTA officers speak volumes.
So consider this aggressive arrest of a mom in the subway. And the restrictive stay-at-home orders in many states, including New York.
Then it becomes quite clear why more people by the day are asking if this is about COVID-19 or just a power grab by a control hungry government.
