Experts are warning that North Korea could be preparing a electromagnetic pulse (EMP) strike with two satellites the communist country has orbiting above the United States. The fear is that an EMP attack would cripple electrical systems here in the U.S.
North Korea launched earth observation satellites in 2012 and 2016. Each of them takes about 94 minutes to circle the globe.
Pyongyang is positioning its satellites in a “nuclear missile age, cyberage version” of Battleship, Dr. Peter Vincent Pry, executive director of the Task Force on National and Homeland Security in America, said. Pry also said North Korea’s recent test missile launch resembled an EMP attack.
Pry tried to sound the alarm about this last year as the video below details, but now that tensions with North Korea are at a boiling point, he is once again speaking out.
Watch:
In a complete reversal of his predecessor’s foreign policy apology tour, President Trump has taken a heavy-handed approach with North Korea. The Sun previously reported that the Navy Seal Team that killed Osama bin Laden is in South Korea prepping for a possible mission with Kim Jong Un as the target. That would change the game entirely.
North Korean state-run media continues to spread propaganda and threatening messages about the United States.
“The army of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), full of the spirit of annihilating the enemies, is waiting for an order to wage a final sacred war, with their guns leveled at the detestable targets. Our strike will all at once turn into sea of fire, completely destroying enemies and winning a final victory” an article from a newspaper run by Kim Jong Un’s party said.
