Nearly 2,000 Soldiers Come To God In 5 Months At This Army Base

God is moving at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri, where nearly 2,000 soldiers have found salvation since March.

U.S. Army Chaplain (Capt.) Jose Rondon ministers at the base each week, and he’s witnessed an amazing revival. Rondon has chronicled the testimonies and baptisms of new converts on his Facebook page, and on Sunday he shared that 380 soldiers had come to the Lord, bringing the total to 1,839 soldiers saved since March 11, 2018.

“Today, 380 soldiers came to salvation in Christ once and for all,” Rondon wrote. “Thanks CH Tony Cech for the excellent, clear, and powerful messages during the 3 services. Since March 11, 2018, we have seen 1,839 soldiers coming to Christ. God’s doing an unbelievable work through our military at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. May God bring the same powerful conviction of sin and love for Him that we are experiencing at Main Post Chapel all throughout our Nation and His world.”

Another video posted by Rondon of soldiers singing “Amazing Grace” has been viewed more than 17,000 times.

In yet another post, a soldier named Private Havens shared his moving testimony about the power of forgiveness:

“I used to have a lot of anger in me,” he said. “I held grudges against people that have done wrongs against me. And I came here, and I realize that the Lord has forgiven me for my sins and I realize that I needed to do the same to others.”

He continued, “I feel a thousand pounds lighter now that I’m able to let go of the burden of this, not hate, but just feeling wronged. And I have forgiven those that have wronged me. I feel better now.”

So what’s driving so many of the soldiers at Fort Leonard Wood to find Christ? Rondon told The Baptist Press that it’s all about being intentional in sharing the gospel and obeying the call of Christ:

“To be intentional is to be faithful to Christ and obedient to His Great Commission,” Rondon said. “But we will not succeed in making disciples until the lost make the first step to follow Christ as their Savior. To be intentional not only means to preach Christ’s Word in the chapel, but to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit to share His message of reconciliation if, and when, the time fits.”

Amen. It’s so moving to see Rondon faithfully spreading the word of Christ to our men and women in the military when other military installations are removing the influence of Christ. Clearly, our soldiers are seeking the truth and comfort of the Word of God, and Rondon is faithfully meeting their need by spreading the good news where it’s needed most.
