What is The Devil Wears Prada 2 About?
Plot details have not been confirmed for the sequel film.
However, the storyline reportedly follows Miranda Priestly (Streep) as she navigates her career amidst the decline of traditional magazine publishing. She will have to face off against Blunt’s character, her assistant-turned-high-powered executive, for a luxury group with advertising money Priestly desperately needs.
It is not clear as of now how Andy Sachs, Anne Hathaway’s character, will factor into the story. You may remember from the first film that she quits Runway and takes a job at a newspaper instead.
Returning and New Cast
The core four are back.
Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci are all reprising their roles in the film series, but there’s also a newcomer in the lineup.
Oscar winner Kenneth Branagh will be joining the cast as the husband of Miranda Priestly. You may remember Priestly mentioning that all is not well in the state of Denmark with her better half, and now we will get to see the true dynamics between the pair.
It will be interesting to see what type of character the husband is, especially since Preistly is something of an ice queen when it comes to emotions.

The Success of the First Film
The first The Devil Wears Prada film was a success, with the 2006 movie driving in close to $125 million U.S./Canada, and over $326 million worldwide. Most of the moviegoers were women, and with the uptick in romantic comedies, there might be a positive trend for the second film also being a success.
In the awards season, the film was nominated for two Oscars: for Streep as Best Actress and Patricia Field’s Costume Design.
First Film Synopsis
The first film was based on the 2004 novel by Lauren Weisberger.
It follows an aspiring journalist, Andy Sachs, who is hired at a fashion magazine called Runway. She is instantly thrown into the fire with her demanding editor-in-chief, Priestly, and her equally ferocious assistant, Emily.
Andy must figure out how to make it in the magazine world, but that’s not all. She must also juggle her love life by choosing between non-industry Nate or fellow fashion industry colleague Christian Thompson.
