The newest Colleen Hoover adaptation is here as the Regretting You trailer was released on August 5th, 2025. Distributed by Paramount Pictures, the film will feature Hoover’s 2019 novel of the same name.

What is Regretting You About?
Regretting You dives into the strained relationship between young mother Morgan Grant and her 16-year-old daughter Clara.
Per Paramount, the official logline for the film is this:
“A shocking car wreck takes the lives of two family members, unlocking a series of secrets, lies, and regrets. The people left behind can’t move forward without looking at the past. Regretting You explores what’s left behind after a tragedy, the messiness and grief, but also the beauty of life and love.”
Other Colleen Hoover Adaptations
This is just the latest in a string of Colleen Hoover adaptations. Several of her bestsellers are screen adaptations, with the most recent being the 2024 film It Ends With Us, starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.
There are two more upcoming Colleen Hoover adaptations after Regretting You.
Amazon MGM Studios is producing Verity, set to premiere in May 2026, starring Dakota Johnson, Anne Hathaway, and Josh Hartnett.
Reminders of Him, a more recent Hoover novel, is getting underway with casting and a behind-the-scenes team headed by Universal.

Behind the Scenes
Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars) is the director of the film, featuring a screenplay written by Susan McMartin (After). Robert Kulzer is producing for Constantin Film alongside Flavia Viotti. Brunson Green is producing for Harbinger Pictures, with Anna Todd producing for Frayed Pages Media.
Colleen Hoover served as an executive producer alongside Williams, Franco, and Grace.
