Tony Stark as Doctor Doom

The first news of the new Doomsday movie came at the 2024 San Diego Comic-Con, as Robert Downey Jr. revealed himself as the villain Victor von Doom (Doctor Doom). Returning to the beloved franchise, Downey Jr. previously played the playboy millionaire Tony Stark/Iron Man, who sacrificed himself at the end of Avengers: Endgame.

While there have been some mixed reviews about Downey Jr.’s return as a new character, most of the response is positive. We know how incredible Downey Jr. can be as a superhero, so we can only imagine how his portrayal of Doctor Doom will shock the Marvel world.
