
While last summer may have been lacking a little in blockbuster films, the hot months of 2025 are ready to provide a range of great films from recognizable franchises to new original films. Ranging from May 30th to August 22nd, you’ll be able to enjoy the theater popcorn and seats all summer long.

Karate Kid: Legends (Premieres May 30th)
Ever since the 1980s classic Karate Kid, there have been several remakes. Unfortunately, none have really captured the nostalgia of the first film until now. Bringing back Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan, Karate Kid: Legends aims to reignite the spark. After moving to New York City, kung fu prodigy Li Fong embarks on a journey to enter the ultimate karate competition with the help of Mr. Han and Daniel LaRusso.
Ballerina (Premieres June 6th)
Jump back into the “World of John Wick” on June 6th with Ballerina, starring Ana de Armas. Attemping to broaden the franchise, the film focuses on De Armas, who plays the dancer-assassin first introduced in Parabellum. The assassin trained in the traditions of the Ruska Roma organization sets out on a path of revenge after her father’s death.

Materialists (Premieres June 13th)

A love triangle between Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans, and Pedro Pascal? Count us in. The romantic comedy Materialists, produced by A24, centers on a young and successful New York City matchmaker who falls for a client. However, when her imperfect ex enters the fray, the matchmaker will have to choose which one is her true love.
How to Train Your Dragon (Premieres June 13th)
Younger and older fans will rejoice when How to Train Your Dragon hits theaters, this time as a live-action film. Returning to the world of Berk and Hiccup’s journey with Toothless, the live-action film aims to shine the light back on our favorite duo. In the film, a threat endangers both Vikings and dragons alike, and the friendship between Hiccup and Toothless will be the key to both species finding a future together.

Jurassic World: Rebirth (Premieres July 2nd)
While some of the more recent installments to the Jurassic Park franchise fell flat, there is new hope with the franchise’s newest film, Jurassic World: Rebirth. Directed by Gareth Edwards, who worked on Rogue One, and starring Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey, there might still be some magic left in the dinosaur world. An expedition is heading to the original island to extract DNA from dinosaurs there, many of whom are the most dangerous experiments left behind.
Superman (Premieres July 11th)
DC is back at the forefront of the film industry, this time with a Superman effort to reboot the franchise. Directed by James Gunn, the newest Superman to hit the big screen is David Corenswet, and the sneak peeks look brighter and more hopeful than past renditions. Fighting to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing, Superman quickly finds himself in a world where truth and justice are not that simple.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps (Premieres July 25th)

Just a couple of months after the release of Thunderbolts*, Marvel is back and this time with a family of heroes. Fantastic Four: First Steps will be the newest rendition of the superpowered group, this time set in the 1960s on a parallel Earth. Forced to balance their hero roles with their family bond, the Fantastic Four must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus and his herald, the Silver Surfer.
The Naked Gun (Premieres August 1st)
Jump into the world of comedy in August with Liam Neeson at the center of The Naked Gun. Starting in dramas before diving into crazy comedies, Neeson is back for another (hopefully) smash hit. In the film, Neeson plays a man with a particular set of skills meant to lead the Police Squad and save the world. This may be one of the funniest movies to watch this summer.

Weapons (Premieres August 8th)
Horror? Yes please. 17 kids from the same school class in a small town mysteriously disappear overnight, with one child remaining? Absolutely. Weapons starts with a bang, and the community is left to question who or what is behind the disappearance. Josh Brolin, Alden Ehrenreich, and Julia Garner are just a few of the star-studded cast members in the film.
Highest 2 Lowest (Premieres August 22nd)
Towards the end of the summer, head to the theater for Spike Lee’s new crime thriller, Highest 2 Lowest. The film stars Denzel Washington, ASAP Rocky, and Jeffrey Wright, and received positive reviews at the Cannes Film Festival. Washington plays a music mogul caught in a ransom plot, a reinterpretation of Akira Kurosawa’s crime thriller High and Low.
