brown bear, bear attack, bear charging

There is a reason people are warned to stay at least a quarter mile away from brown bears. You can’t outrun a charging bear and only foolish people will get closer on purpose.

You can see how fast things can take a turn for the worse in the video below when a bear snaps into a sudden charge and scares the hell out of everyone.

One man found this out the hard way by accidentally stumbling upon four brown bears while he was out with his dog in Alaska. In lightening fast speed, Bob Eder found himself being mauled by one of them.

The entire event is documented at Outdoor Life, but in short, Eder had to slide down the hill after surviving the attack. He used his shirt as a bandage to hold the wound on his leg together. An hour after the attack, help arrived.

He woke up four days later in the hospital after having received over 10 units of blood. Miraculously, his life was spared.

You simply cannot get away from a charging bear while you are exposed to the elements, so don’t intentionally go near them!

Please share this to warn others!
