Royal watchers have been anticipating more information about The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s third child. It was announced that Kate Middleton was expecting several weeks ago, but the due date wasn’t known. The pregnancy was announced early because Kate suffers from hyperemesis gravidarum, an extreme form of morning sickness that prevented her from making official appearances. She was even too sick to go to George’s first day of school.
The wait for this important news is over! Kensington Palace has clued us into this missing detail. The royal baby is due to be born in six months
Kate’s illness likely forced them to announce the pregnancy earlier than preferred. It’s not a surprise, however, as the Duchess also had hyperemesis gravidarum during both of her earlier pregnancies. Kate suffered from the condition while carrying Prince George and Princess Charlotte, but her health improved after the first trimester.
Kate is clearly feeling better now that she is in her second trimester. She made an official appearance at Buckingham Palace last week and was even spotted dancing with Paddington Bear recently.
Kate and William take their parenting responsibilities seriously. This new baby is sure to receive the same love and care as George and Charlotte. While many are surprised the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are having a third child, it’s important to point out that the Queen had four children, so this is not rare for a royal couple.
A number of facts about the expectant royal baby are in the video below.
Kate’s due date was revealed hours after Kensington Palace announced the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will make an official visit to Norway and Sweden in early 2018. At this time, it is unknown if George and Charlotte will be joining them.
