All hell has broken loose over the past few days as riots continue to escalate over the death of George Floyd, who died in police custody in Minneapolis, Minnesota last week. Now, Floyd’s own brother Terrence is calling for peace, saying that the riots have gone way too far. The Floyd family is promoting a positive legacy and does not condone violence or rioting.
George Floyd’s Brother Terrence Calls For Peace
Terrence Floyd told KTRK-TV that his late older brother was a proponent for peace who would not support what is happening right now across the nation.
“I’m outraged too,” Terrence said. “Sometimes, I get angry and I want to bust some heads too. I want to get — I just want to go crazy. My brother wasn’t about that. My brother was about peace. You will hear a lot of people say, he was a gentle giant. You’ll see him coming and you’ll say, ‘Oh wow, that’s a big dude,’ but when you speak to him he’s all about positivity, motivation, and I just can’t believe he’s gone.”

Floyd Family Isn’t Reacting With Violence, So Nobody Else Should Either
He went on to point out that Floyd’s own family is not reacting violently to this tragedy, so nobody else should either.
“Just channel your anger elsewhere,” Terrence said. “Don’t tear up your town. All of this is not necessary, because if his own family is not doing it, then why are you? If his own family and blood is trying to deal with it and be positive about it, and go another route to seek justice, then why are you out here tearing up your community?”
“Because when you’re finished, and you turn around and you want to go buy something, you’ve torn it up. Now you’ve messed up your own living arrangements,” he continued. “So just relax. Justice will be served.”

If even Floyd’s own family is calling for the rioters to calm down, it’s time for Americans everywhere to take a breather and take a step back.
These violent riots have escalated to the point where they clearly aren’t really about Floyd anymore. All the rioters are really doing now is causing further stress to Floyd’s family when they are just trying to grapple with losing the man that they loved.
We are all angry about what happened to George Floyd, but violent rioting and looting is not going to bring him justice.
