The people have chosen, and have officially found 2025’s sexiest man. And this year, the award goes to the English actor known for his role as Lord Anthony Bridgerton in Netflix’s Bridgerton, as well as Fiyero in Wicked, and Tim Laughlin in Fellow Travelers.
That’s right, Jonathan Bailey is named the sexiest man alive according to People Magazine.
During the November 3rd episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jonathan Bailey was announced as the magazine’s sexiest man of the year.
“It’s an honor of a lifetime,” Bailey told host Jimmy Fallon, signing his copy of the magazine. And in an interview with the outlet published Monday evening, the star said, “Obviously I’m incredibly flattered. And it’s completely absurd,” he continued, “It’s been a secret, so I’m quite excited for some friends and family to find out.”
He confessed that he expects “a lot” of his friends to give him grief about the title, saying, “They’ll be furious that I haven’t told them. Then they’ll just squeal with delight. They’ve seen me grow up. Behind the mask of being identified as a sexy man are other truths that they know and they’ve witnessed. They know the secrets.”
Fallon congratulated the star’s achievement on the November 3rd show, saying, “Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.”
Bailey is the first openly gay person to earn the title of People’s Sexiest Man. The star spoke about learning of his achievement earlier this year when he was doing a production of Shakespeare’s Richard III overseas.
The English actor first captured the hearts of viewers with his role in Bridgerton, and then quickly went on to star in Jurassic World: Rebirth. Fans have since fallen in love with him even more during his role in Wicked.
Bailey can now be seen in the next installment of the Wicked movies, Wicked: For Good, which will hit theaters on November 21.
