It seems like the Disney alum just can’t catch a break.
In a resurfaced interview from an episode of the Big Names podcast in 2023, a Disney star shared ‘uncomfortable’ interaction with Ashley Tisdale. In the interview, That’s So Raven star Anneliese van der Pol shed light on an awkward encounter with fellow alum Ashley Tisdale years before the viral mom-group drama.
The star recounted the interaction that took place while she was working as a waitress in New York City. At the time, That’s So Raven alum was jugging resaurant jobs at spots including Salvation Burger, Salvation Taco, and Tavern on the Green. When asked whether the High School Musical star was friendly, van der Pol hesitated before answering, which detailed her experience serving Tisdale.
“I want to say she was lovely, but…” the alum trailed off. Rather than greeting her enthusiastically, van der Pol claimed Tisdale appeared uneasy. In fact, van der Pol said that the reaction was tense, which compelled her to reassure the former Disney peer.
That’s So Raven‘s star described feeling the weight of judgment from nearby diners who recognized her and seemed unsettled seeing a former TV star working in the food service. Van der Pol said the experience was ‘gut-wrenching’, but emphasized that she felt proud of her work.
“I was actually really happy,” she explained during the 2023 episode of the podcast. “I know when I clean a table or bring a meal that I can do that, and there won’t be any mistakes.”
Va der Pol also said that Tisdale “didn’t do anything, but she was uncomfortable for me. She was so uncomfortable.”
The recent interview has resurfaced for fans arguing over whether Tisdale’s story about her recent mom friend group has any validity. Within the past week, Tisdale released an interview with The Cut about cutting off toxic mom groups. And in response, Samii Ryan reposted a shady post to her Instagram Story.
Along with that, Hilary Duff’s husband also posted on his Instagram Story bashing Tisdale’s interview with The Cut.
This further solidifies the weird behavior from Tisdale, which many fans believe is creating more drama than necessary about leaving the friend group.
