The iconic band Village People have announced that they will be performing at Donald Trump’s inauguration events.

The former-and-incoming President is famously a fan, and regularly busts out the “Trump Dance” to Village People’s classic hit, “Y.M.C.A.”.

The Village People To Perform For Trump

Victor Willis, the lead singer of Village People, announced that his band has accepted Trump’s invitation to perform.

“We know this wont make some of you happy to hear however we believe that music is to be performed without regard to politics,” Willis said. “Our song Y.M.C.A. is a global anthem that hopefully helps bring the country together after a tumultuous and divided campaign where our preferred candidate lost.”

Village People will perform at an inaugural eve ball hosted by the conservative activist group Turning Point USA. In attendance at this event will be Donald Trump Jr. and Vice President-elect JD Vance. Tulsi Gabbard, who is Trump’s pick for director of national intelligence, will also be attending.

This comes one month after Willis defended Trump’s use of Village People’s song “Y.M.C.A.” at campaign rallies.

“We believe that music is non-political and that YMCA is a song that may help bring the country together,” The Village People said at the time. “Therefore, we will participate [in] several inaugural activities.”

Carrie Underwood To Perform At Trump Inauguration

This also comes after it was revealed that the country music star Carrie Underwood will be performing at Trump’s inauguration.

“I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event,” Underwood said. “I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future.”

Indeed, Underwood has long made it a point to stay out of politics.

“I try to stay far out of politics if possible, at least in public, because nobody wins,” Underwood told The Guardian in 2019.

“It’s crazy,” she added. “Everybody tries to sum everything up and put a bow on it, like it’s black and white. And it’s not like that.”

Underwood went on to say that she feels “like more people try to pin me places politically.”

More Performers At Trump Inauguration

Also performing at Trump’s inauguration ceremony will be the country singer Lee Greenwood, best known for his classic song “God Bless the USA,” and opera singer Christopher Macchio.

“President Trump is dedicated to uniting the country through the strength, security, and opportunity of his America First agenda,” said Steve Witkoff and Kelly Loeffler, the co-chairs of the inaugural committee. “The 2025 inaugural celebrations will reflect President-elect Trump’s historic return to the White House and the American people’s decisive vote to Make America Great Again.”

During Trump’s first inauguration in 2017, the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square sang “America the Beautiful.” Meanwhile, Greenwood, Toby Keith, 3 Doors Down, The Piano Guys, DJ Ravidrums, and The Frontmen of Country all performed at his pre-inauguration concert.

One thing is for sure, and that is that Trump’s inauguration will be one for the ages. We can’t wait to see what Village People bring to it when it comes time for them to perform!
