Last month, we reported that the Oscar-winning star Nicole Kidman and her country music star husband Keith Urban had separated after 19 years of marriage. At the time, insiders were claiming that Kidman was desperately “fighting to save her marriage.” They also alleged that she’d felt “blindsided” by Urban wanting to separate.
Hours later, however, Kidman, 58, officially filed for divorce from Urban, 58. This came amidst rumors that Urban had already moved on with a “new girlfriend.”
Now, insiders are claiming that Urban is in the midst of a midlife crisis of sorts. According to these sources, Urban found his “sexless” marriage to Kidman to be “unbearable” before their split.
Urban’s ‘Midlife Crisis’
Urban and Kidman secretly separated back in June. The country music star was the one who reportedly asked for this to happen. Insiders told Radar Online that the separation was “the latest in a string of confusing choices” that Urban has made as he reevaluates his life at nearly 60 years of age.
One source claimed that this “midlife crisis” began back in January after the release of Urban’s latest album “High.” He then shocked everyone by abruptly firing members of his band who’d worked with him for 25 years. Those close to Urban speculated that he might have wanted to return to his hard-partying ways when he embarked on his High and Alive World Tour this year.
Indeed, Urban had openly struggled with drugs and alcohol for years before Kidman staged an intervention for him after they married in 2006. He had reportedly been sober ever since.

Kidman’s Sex Scene Comments
Other insiders claimed that Urban and Kidman “fell out of lust.” However, they still kept up an elaborate “happy couple” act for years.
Kidman didn’t help matters when she bragged publicly about doing sex scenes with her much younger co-stars like Zac Efron, 38, who she starred with in the 2024 Netflix rom-com A Family Affair. That same year, Kidman admitted that she was “so turned on” doing sex scenes with 28-year-old co-star Harris Dickinson in the erotic drama Babygirl that she had to pause filming at times.
“There were times when we were shooting where I was like, ‘I don’t want to orgasm any more,’” Kidman told The Sun in October of 2024.
Needless to say, this did not sit well with Urban, who began to feel increasingly “trapped” in his “sexless” marriage.
“He was tired of hearing her rave about her sexual reawakening and animal attraction to her co-stars and has been living his own life,” an insider told Radar Online last week.

Urban Moves Out
Finally, Urban could take it no longer, and he moved out of the family home and into his own pad in Nashville in June.
Kidman reportedly spent months trying to save her marriage. It wasn’t until September 30 that she finally gave up and filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences” at the time.
“She didn’t want this,” a source told People Magazine after Kidman filed for divorce. “She has been fighting to save the marriage.”
Just a few days later, Urban was spotted without his wedding ring during a concert in Pennsylvania. It seems that for him, the divorce was “a long time coming.”
“Keith has moved on and has been open with Nicole about where he stands,” an Urban insider told US Weekly last month.
“The two had grown apart quietly over time, and by the end, the decision to separate was more about acceptance than surprise,” that source concluded.
