The Los Angeles area has been left devastated by wildfires that have destroyed over 12,000 homes and businesses. The A-list stars of Hollywood quickly learned the hard way that they were not immune from the destruction, as many of them lost their homes as well.
One such star is Miles Teller of Top Gun: Maverick fame. The young actor is sharing for the first time what it’s been like to lose home to the wildfires.
Teller Speaks Out
On Thursday night, musicians gathered in Los Angeles for the FireAid benefit concert, with performances from Stevie Nicks, Jelly Roll, Katy Perry, Billie Eilish, and Rod Stewart, among others.
Teller, 37, spoke out at the end of the FireAid benefit concert to talk about losing his home for the first time.
“First I just want to give a shout-out, I know there are a lot of first responders here tonight,” Teller said. “I know there are a lot watching at home, so thank you all for keeping us safe. Thank you.”
“My wife and I, like a lot of us in the Pacific Palisades, lost our home in the fires and my heart breaks for everyone who has been affected across the city,” he continued. “Truly my heart goes out to all you guys.”
Teller’s Wife Breaks Her Silence
Teller’s wife Kaleigh took to Instagram earlier this month to share before and after photos of their house.
“To everyone reaching out I can’t thank you enough, your kind hearts have meant the world, I’ll never forget them,” she wrote. “Community has come out stronger than I could imagine, pacific palisades I love you beyond measure you are a little slice of heaven, we will come back stronger than ever.”
“If you’re in the LA area PLEASE get out if you can. I wish I grabbed my wedding dress .. wish I did a lot different but it doesn’t matter, stay safe, get out,” she added. “There are no words. THANK YOU to the first responders fighting.”

More Celebrities Lose Their Homes
Many other celebrities have also lost their homes to these wildfires. These stars include Mel Gibson, Paris Hilton, Anna Faris, Anthony Hopkins, John Goodman, Miles Teller, Ricki Lake, Cary Elwes, Cameron Mathison, Milo Ventimiglia, Spencer Pratt, and Heidi Montag.
Billy Crystal announced earlier this month that the home he and his wife Janice have lived in for 46 years burned to the ground in the wildfires as well.
“Words cannot describe the enormity of the devastation we are witnessing and experiencing,” Crystal, 76, told People Magazine. “We ache for our friends and neighbors who have also lost their homes and businesses in this tragedy.”
“Janice and I lived in our home since 1979,” he continued. “We raised our children and grandchildren here. Every inch of our house was filled with love. Beautiful memories that can’t be taken away. We are heartbroken of course but with the love of our children and friends we will get through this.”
Crystal ended his statement with a message of hope.
“We pray for the safety of the firefighters and first responders,” Crystal concluded. “The Pacific Palisades is a resilient community of amazing people and we know in time it will rise again. It is our home.”
Please join us in saying a prayer for Teller, Crystal, and all those impacted by these wildfires!
