In the crazy world of Hollywood, it’s rare to find a marriage that actually stands the test of time. That’s what makes the nearly-20 year marriage of the former Home Improvement star Tim Allen and his wife Jane Hajduk so special!
Allen And Hajduk’s Marriage
Allen, 71, and Hajduk, 58, have been married since 2006, and had been dating since 2001. Last month, Allen and Hajduk opened up about their long-lasting union while attending the Cirque du Soleil KOOZA red carpet premiere with their 15 year-old daughter Elizabeth.
They offered some great advice – it’s all about variety and open lines of communication.
When asked for the secret behind their 20-year marriage, Hajduk replied that she and Allen “stretch” together.
“Our new activity is stretching,” she explained to People Magazine. “We go to a little stretch lab, and then we go have breakfast.”
“I can actually stand up straight,” Allen quipped when asked if the stretch classes have made a difference.
“It’s great,” Hajduk continued. She added that it “just feels like you’re doing something great for your body.”
Allen and Hajduk went on to say that communication and mutual friendship are other keys to their successful marriage.
“We talk,” Hajduk said. Allen agreed, saying, “That’s right, we talk. We do. And we’re good buddies.”

Allen’s Marital History
Allen was previously married to his college sweetheart Laura Deibel from 1984 until they split in 1999. Their divorced was finalized in 2003. Allen and Deibel are parents to a daughter named Katherine, who was born in 1989.
After marrying in 2006, Allen and Hajduk welcomed their daughter Elizabeth in 2009. At the time, Allen told People that her birth was a “marvelous experience.”
“[My wife] did all the work but she allowed me to be there, and I was able to physically help her on the back side of it,” he stated. “I was the first one that got to look at [Elizabeth].”
Hajduk chimed in to say that Allen is “an incredible dad.”
“I like it. I like it even better the second time,” Allen continued. “I’m not so worried as I was the first time.”

Allen And Hajduk Are ‘Neatniks’
While appearing on The Kelly Clarkson Show back in 2022, Allen described himself and Hajduk as “neatniks” after he was asked who “wins” at decorating the house. The former Last Man Standing star revealed that he attended design school, which makes him particular about home décor placement. However, Hajduk is the same way, which leads to “passive-aggressive fighting” between them about moved items at home.
“I’ll come in and go, ‘Why is that lamp over there?’ … It’s literally six inches to the left,” Allen said. “I know she’s probably coming into the bedroom and goes, ‘Why is the lamp like that?’ And this is going on for years.”
One of Allen and Hajduk’s favorite things is celebrating the holidays with their daughter.
“We start listening to Christmas music the day after Thanksgiving,” Hajduk said. “We have a tradition.”
Allen has long been known as one of the most down-to-earth stars in Hollywood. After playing hilarious family men on television for so long, it’s nice to see that Allen has such a great marriage behind the scenes as well!
