Back in August, we reported that the former Home Improvement star Tim Allen had announced that he is reading the Bible in its entirety for the first time. Now, Allen is speaking out to update his fans on how this endeavor is going for him.
Allen Updates Fans On His Biblical Journey
“Continuing my reading of the complete Bible,” Allen, 71, wrote on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. “Finished a rather intense Ezekiel now on to Daniel.”
“The challenge in reading this Book is how I translate words that the Eternal expresses to the temporary,” he continued. “I need a Snickers.”
Allen revealed to the world back in August that he had decided to read the Bible cover-to-cover.
“Never took the time in all my years to ever read and really read the Bible,” Allen wrote on social media at the time. “Currently almost through the Jerusalem Bible Old Testament and almost done with the Prophets.”
“Next up to New Testament,” he added. “So far amazing and not at all what I was expecting.”

Allen’s Christian Faith
Allen has long been one of the only openly Christian stars in Hollywood. His journey to finding God, however, was not a smooth one.
Allen was only 11 years-old when his father was killed by a drunk driver. This caused him to question his faith from an early age.
“For years, I just did not like this idea of God, church,” he admitted to ABC News back in 2011. “(I was) still a churchgoer, but constantly a cynic.”
This all changed after Allen was arrested in 1978 with over a pound of cocaine. He subsequently spent two years in prison, and he used that time to find God again. Ever since then, Allen has been a proud believer. These days, he refers to God as “The Builder.”
“I always do ask … The Builder, what did you want me to do?” Allen said. “And I do ask it. But you got to be prepared for the answer. Whoever built me, this is too much, too weird that it happened by accident. It didn’t happen by accident.”

Allen Incorporates Christianity Into The Santa Clauses
Allen even incorporates his faith into some of his Hollywood projects. Back in 2022, Allen revealed that he insisted that his Disney+ series The Santa Clauses include faith-based elements.
“It originally had a lot of otherworldly characters, and ghosts, and goblins,” Allen told The Wrap at the time. “I said no, this is Christ-mas. Its Christ-mas. It literally is a religious holiday.”
“We don’t have to blow trumpets, but I do want you to acknowledge it. That’s what this is about,” he continued. “If you want to get into Santa Claus, you’re going to have to go back to history, and it’s all about religion.”
Sure enough, the fifth and sixth episodes of the first season included religious elements. Allen said that it was “really wonderful” to see this happen, adding that the show “took a chance, and we did it very well.”
We applaud Allen for continuing to use his platform to spread the word of God. We also wish him the best of luck as he continues his biblical journey!
