Taylor Swift has been best friends with the former Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively for the past decade. Now, however, sources are claiming that Swift is “taking a step back” from Lively.
She’s doing so after Lively brought Swift into her bitter feud with her This Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni, which has become a major hot topic in entertainment.
Swift’s Falling Out With Lively
Baldoni, 41, is claiming that Lively, 37, used Swift, 35, as an “intimidation tactic” during a confrontation that they allegedly had. This feud was reportedly about edits that Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds, 48, made to a rooftop scene featured in This Ends With Us.
A source told Page Six that Swift “can’t help but feel used” by Lively. Indeed, the “Fortnight” singer “doesn’t appreciate being referred to as one of Blake’s dragons” in texts that Lively allegedly sent to Baldoni.

While the texts in question don’t specify who the “dragons” are, many think they are Reynolds and Swift.
“If you ever get around to watching Game of Thrones, you’ll appreciate that I’m Khaleesi, and like her, I happen to have a few dragons,” read one text that Lively allegedly sent to Baldoni. Well, at least she’s humble.
“For better or worse, but usually for better. Because my dragons also protect those I fight for,” it continued. “So really we all benefit from those gorgeous monsters of mine. You will too, I can promise you.”

Baldoni Allegedly Responds
Baldoni then seemingly referred to Swift when he responded by saying that he liked the revisions that were made to the script.
“I really love what you did,” he wrote. “It really does [help] a lot. Makes it so much more fun and interesting. (And I would have felt that way without Ryan and Taylor).”
The source close to the situation added, “Taylor really wishes Blake hadn’t dragged her into this whole situation.” This insider went on to say that Swift and Lively “have been friends for years and Taylor cherishes genuine friendships, but she can’t help but feel used at this point.”
Moving forward, Swift “wants to keep out of this drama as much as possible,” according to the source.

More Insiders Speak Out
“For the time being she is taking a step back from Blake because she doesn’t want to get tangled in this more than she already has – which is far more than she ever needed to be,” another insider told Daily Mail.
“Her friends also think that Blake’s ‘I’m Khaleesi, and like her, I happen to have dragons’ text to Justin was uncool and unnecessary because she was essentially used as an intimidation tactic,” this source continued. “She was referred to as some kind of pet or possession.”
Yet another source said that Swift has “politely backed away from it all. She is conscious of her own image and hates that she was even mentioned.”
This comes as Swift is preparing for a big weekend. Indeed, she’ll be watching her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his team, the Kansas City Chiefs, take on the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl.
Last year, Lively joined her at the Super Bowl to watch the Chiefs triumph over the San Francisco 49ers. Judging by these latest reports, however, it seems that Lively likely won’t be joining her this time around.
