Earlier this year, we reported that Rosie O’Donnell had fled the United States to move to Ireland. Now, O’Donnell’s former mansion in Miami, Florida has sold for a whopping $35 million.

O’Donnell’s Former Mansion Sells For $35 Million

O’Donnell’s 11,104-square-foot home in the ritzy Star Island neighborhood officially sold for $35.3 million. The mansion was built in 1923, and O’Donnell bought it in 1999. She then sold it to the couple David and Linda Frankel for $16.5 million in 2013.

Located on 1.1-acres, the home boasts eight bedrooms. It also has two guesthouses, a boathouse, a swimming pool and 200 feet of waterfront property with a private dock.

The mansion was bought by Russell Weiner, founder of Rockstar Energy. He plans to expand the estate to about 15,000 square feet. He is additionally preparing to add various amenities, including a spa, gym and cabana.

Though Star Island is small, it’s known as a celebrity hotspot. Indeed, other famous residents include Gloria and Emilio Estefan, Jennifer Lopez, Rick Ross, andΒ Sean “Diddy” Combs.

O’Donnell Flees America

Though O’Donnell left Star Island over a decade ago, she maintained other residents in the U.S. until very recently. Back in May, she sold a New York City penthouse for $4.75 million. This came months after O’Donnell picked up and moved to Ireland with her 12 year-old non-binary child Clay.

In June, O’Donnell admitted to the former CNN host Chris Cuomo that she fled America because of Donald Trump’s presidential victory. She even described this move as being one of “self-preservation,” since she greatly struggled during Trump’s first presidency.

“During his first go-round, it was very difficult, and I got myself into some bad places,” said O’Donnell. “You know, I was very, very depressed. I was overeating, I was overdrinking. I was so depressed, Chris.”

In a May interview, O’Donnell claimed to have no regrets about making this move.

“Never, for one moment since I arrived here, did I regret my choice,” O’Donnell told Variety at the time. “People have been so welcoming, so accepting, and they have a different view of celebrity in the culture here. They are not prioritized over other people.”

In another video posted to TikTok, however, O’Donnell admitted that “it’s not easy moving to another country.”

Watch O’Donnell talk more about that in the video below.

Will O’Donnell Lose Her American Citizenship?

Earlier this week, President Trump announced for the second time that he’s considering revoking O’Donnell’s American citizenship.

“As previously mentioned, we are giving serious thought to taking away Rosie O’Donnell’s Citizenship,” Trump, 79, wrote on his Truth Social platform on Wednesday.

“She is not a Great American and is, in my opinion, incapable of being so!” the president added.

Trump wrote this alongside an unflattering image of O’Donnell. Check it out for yourself below.

Trump had made similar comments on Truth Social back in July.

“Because of the fact that Rosie O’Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship,” he wrote on July 12. “She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”

Needless to say, it certainly seems like O’Donnell won’t be returning to the U.S. anytime soon. In the end, it’s clear that America is better off without Rosie O’Donnell in it. Good riddance!
