Two months ago, we reported that Rosie O’Donnell had fled the United States to move to Ireland. Now, O’Donnell has reemerged to make a truly shocking admission.
O’Donnell’s Major Admission
O’Donnell, 63, took to Instagram on Saturday to reveal that she’s lost a dramatic amount of weight. She admitted that she made this happen by taking the weight loss drug Mounjaro.
“I can’t believe this is me now,” O’Donnell wrote alongside a photo of her noticeably thinner frame performing onstage. She added the hashtags “#mounjaro,”#weightloss” and “#bodydismorphia.”
Similar to Ozempic and Wegovy, Mounjaro is a medication for type 2 diabetes and weight loss. It is taken via weekly injected in the thigh, stomach or arm. Celebrities like Elon Musk, Meghan Trainor, and Kyle Richards have all admitted to using Mounjaro in recent months.

O’Donnell’s Weight Loss Journey
O’Donnell previously opened up about her weight loss journey in a video posted to TikTok back in March.
“I’ve lost more weight. I am on Mounjaro for my diabetes and one of the side effects is you lose weight,” she said at the time. “But it’s also because I had a chef for over two years in Los Angeles and I don’t have a chef now. It’s me cooking for Clay and me.”
Clay is O’Donnell’s 12 year-old child. The two of them moved to Ireland together at the start of this year. In her video, O’Donnell went on to say that since moving to Dublin, she’s had to go shopping for new clothes that “fit better” after her weight loss. O’Donnell then confessed that she’s even shocked herself with her weight loss.
“I’m one of those people who always had a weight issue and now that I’m a size large — instead of an XL or a XXL — I find it shocking,” she said. “I really do. I find it completely shocking.”

O’Donnell Gets Prescribed Mounjaro
O’Donnell previously revealed in January of 2023 that her doctor had put her on Mounjaro and Repatha two months prior. In that brief amount of time, she was already seeing results.
“One I do every other week and one I do once a week,” O’Donnell explained at the time.
O’Donnell went on to say that she’d made changes to her diet. She said that she was “not eating sugar as much as I can.” O’Donnell was also focusing on drinking more water.
“My appetite has decreased significantly. It’s probably the meds,” she acknowledged. “And I’m trying to move more. So, all those things combined, that’s what it is.”

O’Donnell Flees America
O’Donnell revealed back in March that she’d left America to move to Ireland.
“It’s been pretty wonderful, I have to say. The people are so loving and so kind, so welcoming,” O’Donnell said in a video posted to TikTok. “And I’m very grateful.”
“I was never someone who thought I would move to another country, that’s what I decided would be the best for myself and my 12-year-old child,” she continued. “And here we are.”

One week later, O’Donnell returned to TikTok to admit that it was “not easy” to move out of the U.S.
“It’s not easy to move to another country, and we really felt as a family this was the safest and best thing for us to do,” she said.
