Earlier this year, we reported that the comedian Rosie O’Donnell had fled the United States to move to Ireland. Now, O’Donnell is speaking out to issue a groveling apology after she put her foot in her mouth once again.

O’Donnell Politicizes School Shooting

O’Donnell, 63, took to TikTok on Sunday to apologize for an assumption she made about the Minneapolis school shooter who killed two children and injured 17 others at a Catholic school last Wednesday. Like many celebrities, O’Donnell wasted no time in politicizing the shooting and shamelessly using it to further her far-left agenda.

“Saw about the Minnesota shooting, and it brought me right back to Columbine in 1999 when I just could not get it through my head that students in American were shooting each other in schools,” O’Donnell said in a video posted to social media.

“This was a church inside a Catholic school,” she added. “And what do you know? This was a white guy, Republican, MAGA person, what do you know? White supremacist.”

Despite this, the shooter was actually a self-identified transgender woman who was vehemently anti-Donald Trump. The shooter even had the words “kill Donald Trump” written on one of the weapons found at the scene.

O’Donnell Apologizes

O’Donnell left her initial video up for days even after the shooter’s anti-Trumpidentity was confirmed. It wasn’t until Sunday that O’Donnell finally backed down and apologized.

“I know a lot of you were very upset about the video I made before I went away for a few days,” O’Donnell acknowledged. “You are right and I did not do my due diligence before I made that emotional statement.”

“I said things about the shooter that were incorrect. I assumed, like most shooters, they followed a standard MO and had standard feelings of you know, NRA-loving kind of gun people,” she continued. “The truth is, I messed up and when you mess up, you fess up. I’m sorry, this is my apology video and I hope it’s enough.”

O’Donnell Flees America

O’Donnell has long been known as one of the most obsessively anti-Trump celebrities in Hollywood. Given how vehemently anti-Trump the entertainment world is, that’s saying a lot!

In fact, O’Donnell despises Trump so much that she moved across the globe just to get away from him. Indeed, she shocked the world when she fled the U.S. and moved to Ireland with her 12 year-old child Clay back in January.

In June, O’Donnell admitted to the former CNN host Chris Cuomo that she fled America because of Donald Trump’s presidential victory. She even described this move as being one of “self-preservation,” since she greatly struggled during Trump’s first presidency.

“During his first go-round, it was very difficult, and I got myself into some bad places,” said O’Donnell. “You know, I was very, very depressed. I was overeating, I was overdrinking. I was so depressed, Chris.”

Does O’Donnell Regret This Move?

In a May interview, O’Donnell claimed to have no regrets about making this move.

“Never, for one moment since I arrived here, did I regret my choice,” O’Donnell told Variety at the time. “People have been so welcoming, so accepting, and they have a different view of celebrity in the culture here. They are not prioritized over other people.”

In another video posted to TikTok, however, O’Donnell admitted that “it’s not easy moving to another country.”

Watch O’Donnell talk more about that in the video below.

One would think that after so many years of publicly embarrassing herself, O’Donnell would have learned to think before she speaks by now. Based on this latest controversy, however, that’s clearly not the case at all.

In the end, this just serves as yet another reminder that America is better off without O’Donnell in it. Good riddance, Rosie O’Donnell!
