Yesterday, we reported that Ellen DeGeneres had spoken out to support Rosie O’Donnell after President Donald Trump threatened to revoke her citizenship. This came after DeGeneres and O’Donnell both fled America following Trump’s presidential victory. DeGeneres settled in England, while O’Donnell moved to Ireland.
Unfortunately for DeGeneres and O’Donnell, however, the two of them joining forces has now blown up in their faces. Indeed, they both were just humiliated on live television in a big way.
DeGeneres And O’Donnell Get Publicly Humiliated
Sky News host Rita Panahi reacted to DeGeneres voicing her support for O’Donnell by branding both as “loopy lefties.”
“How silly are these two?” Panahi said. “Donald Trump is obviously not going to revoke Rosie O’Donnell’s citizenship.”
“He’s having a bit of fun, they’re sort of having conniptions about what is an obvious joke,” she added. “There you go, Donald Trump bringing loopy lefties everywhere together.”
Ouch, that has got to sting for DeGeneres and O’Donnell, two wealthy elites who are each hopelessly out of touch with reality!

DeGeneres Backs O’Donnell
This all stared on Saturday, when President Trump took to Truth Social to declare O’Donnell to be a “threat to humanity.”
“Because of the fact that Rosie O’Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship,” he continued.
O’Donnell wasted no time in firing back on Instagram.
“The president of the USA has always hated the fact that I see him for who he is — a criminal con man sexual abusing liar out to harm our nation to serve himself,” she wrote. “This is why I moved to Ireland.”
O’Donnell went on to reference a villainous character from the HBO show Game Of Thrones as she continued to taunt Trump.
“You want to revoke my citizenship? Go ahead and try, King Joffrey with a tangerine spray tan,” she added.
Sure enough, DeGeneres turned up in the comments section to voice her support for O’Donnell.
“Good for you @rosie,” DeGeneres wrote.

O’Donnell’s History With DeGeneres
This came as a surprise to many, as there’s believed to be no love lost between DeGeneres and O’Donnell. Earlier this year, O’Donnell expressed her shock that DeGeneres also fled America after Trump’s second presidential victory.
“I’ve never really known Ellen to say anything political in her life, so I was surprised to read that she left because of President Trump. Like, that shocked me, actually,” O’Donnell told US Weekly back in April. “I’ve been a political person my whole life, not better or worse, it’s just a different way to be in the world.”
“I was very clear about the reason why I was leaving, and I don’t think it came as a surprise to anyone,” she continued. Of DeGeneres, she later added that “we’re not really in each other’s worlds.”

O’Donnell And DeGeneres’ Alleged Feud
O’Donnell has long been open about her alleged feud with DeGeneres. In 2023, O’Donnell told The Hollywood Reporter that she and DeGeneres were actually once close friends.
“It was a good relationship. We were friends. We supported each other,” she recalled. “She came out first on my show [The Rosie O’Donnell Show], remember? She came on and my show was live.”
Though they went their “separate ways” when their comedy careers took them different places, O’Donnell claimed that they still remained friends. That all changed when DeGeneres made some hurtful comments about O’Donnell while being interviewed by Larry King in 2004.
“Larry King said, ‘Whatever happened to Rosie O’Donnell’s show? She went down the tubes as soon as she came out,'” O’Donnell recounted. “And the quote that Ellen said was, ‘I don’t know Rosie. We’re not friends.’ I was watching TV in bed with my wife going, ‘Did she just say that?’”
“It would never occur to me to say, ‘I don’t know her,’ about somebody whose babies I held when they were born,” she concluded. “It wouldn’t be in my lexicon of choices to ever say.”
Watch O’Donnell talk more about this in the video below.
After being called out for her support of O’Donnell, perhaps DeGeneres is now wishing that she’d kept her mouth shut. It will certainly be interesting to see if O’Donnell and DeGeneres end up staying abroad longterm, or if they come crawling back to America!
