Reba McEntire and Rex Linn’s nuptials may be a long way off yet.
Long Engagement
The Happy Place couple has been engaged since Christmas Eve 2024, and the 71-year-old actress joked they could be in the set to wed phase for decades before she and the 69-year-old actor eventually say “I do.”
Reba quipped to Extra: “They’re kind of being pushed every time Rex gets a job because he always says work comes first. Heck, we might be engaged 30 years before we get married, but we’re OK with that, too.”
But when it comes to their nuptials, Reba and Rex are opting for a “low-key” celebration at their ranch in Tennessee with “lots of friends and family” – including their pooches, who will play a big part in the ceremony.
Reba shared, “I have two granddogs, Watson and Belle, so they may be the ring bearers or something like that, but we have to have our animals there. We’ve got longhorns and donkeys, horses and everything, cats.”
“We have a lot of fun with them.”
Loving the Engagement
The former coach on The Voice is enjoying every minute being engaged.
Reba said, “I am totally happy, I really am. Loving life, I enjoy what I do.”
And Rex feels the same way.
Last month, he told Extra, “We’re just enjoying our engagement right now, and I’m having a blast enjoying the engagement. She’s been married prior. I’ve never been married, so… If I have to wait another year, who cares? I mean, I don’t care.”
The CSI: Miami alum echoed Reba’s admission of a “low-key” wedding, but suggested they could “possibly have a big party.”
Reba and Rex’s Love Story
Reba and Rex first met in the 1990s, but they did not have a romantic spark until March 2020, when the latter reached out to the singer following her mom Jacqueline’s death from cancer at the age of 93.
The Can’t Even Get the Blues hitmaker and Rex have the same “dynamic” when they are on The Happy Place and at home.
In October 2024, Reba told Us Weekly, “Rex and I are best friends.”
“We have the same likes and dislikes. We’re foodies. We love to cook. We each wanted to be a cowboy and a cowgirl. Then we got into the entertainment business instead.”
“Our dynamic works on and off-screen.”
Previous Marriages
Previously, Reba was married to cattle rancher Charlie Battles from 1976 to 1987. She got hitched to music manager Narvel Blackstock, 69, in 1989, and they called their relationship quits in 2015.
The entertainer has a 36-year-old son, racecar driver Shelby Blackstock, with Narvel.
