It’s been five years since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down as senior royals. They then moved across the world to Southern California, where Meghan was born and raised.
In the years since then, Harry and Meghan have been estranged from the royal family. Now, Harry is reportedly “desperate” to get back in with the royals. Indeed, he finally seems to have some “regrets” about the way he ditched his family for Meghan.
Harry’s Peace Offering To The Royals
In what appears to be a peace offering of sorts, Harry has allegedly offered to share his official schedule of engagements and outings with the royal family. This would allow for more transparency between Harry and the royals. It would also avoid conflicts between official royal engagements and Harry and Meghan’s public outings.
This comes immediately after Daily Mail reported that Harry’s recent visit to Angola dominated newspapers. Much to the royal family’s dismay, it overshadowed Queen Camilla’s 78th birthday coverage in the process. Harry’s offer might be his way of telling the royals that he isn’t actually trying to outshine them.
Royal experts believe that Harry’s peace offering is a clear sign of desperation on his part.
“Harry is now desperate,” British royal expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News. “While this self-serving gesture is notable, it won’t do much to mitigate suspicion and caution on the royal side. King Charles III is now more guarded than ever, indeed somewhat traumatized by a string of betrayals.”
Palace insiders have reportedly told Fordwich that King Charles “has expressed being ‘cautious and wary’ regarding fearing further unsavory leaks, [especially] private royal family gatherings being publicized yet again.”
“Also, overall doubt still prevails in Prince William’s camp,” Fordwich continued. “He considers any reconciliation at all as a ‘grave mistake.’ His senior royal courtiers are understood to be just as wary and immensely protective of the future monarch. They only see [a reconciliation] as creating more bombshells, as well as instability.”
Harry’s Alleged ‘Regrets’
This comes weeks after royal author Duncan Larcombe claimed that Harry has “regrets” about the way he handled his royal exit with Meghan.
“Harry is a sensitive soul and always wore his heart on his sleeve. So whether he’d admit it publicly or not, I’m sure he’s full of regrets and wishes he’d done things differently,” Larcombe told OK! Magazine last month.
“With Trooping the Colour and Father’s Day falling on the same weekend, it was bound to make him look back at the happy relationships he once had with his brother and dad. And I’m sure he’d love to be able to rebuild those,” Larcombe added.
Larcombe went on to say that while Harry might be homesick, Meghan likely has no interest in returning to the United Kingdom.
“Meghan is probably quite reluctant to come to the UK anyway because they’d have to be deaf, dumb and blind not to realize just how much criticism they’ve had for their betrayals and truth bombs,” he explained.

Royal Experts Hopeful For The Future
Meanwhile, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams is feeling optimistic about Harry’s latest peace offering.
“This represents a gesture of goodwill,” Fitzwilliams said. “The Sussexes should always respect the royal calendar, where natural care is taken to avoid clashes whenever possible. This is a practical move that will be appreciated. It appears the Sussexes are getting some good advice.”
“This is a very significant departure and development for Harry as he attempts to find a peaceful way forward,” royal expert Ian Pelham Turner added in agreement. “In my opinion, this should be construed as a way forward and one which the royal family should accept and move forward to a peaceful conclusion for the future.”
After everything that Harry has done to the royals, however, we could also certainly understand if they want nothing to do with him. Only time will tell if Harry is ever able to get back into the royal fold!
