It’s been nearly one year since Pat Sajak retired from hosting Wheel Of Fortune, much to the dismay of fans. When he stepped down in June of last year, Sajak had been hosting the iconic game show since 1981, if you can believe it.

But guess what, folks? He’s coming back!

It has just been revealed that Sajak, 78, will be returning to Wheel of Fortune for his “Final Spin” on Celebrity Wheel of Fortune at the end of April.

Sajak’s ‘Final Spin’

Beginning April 30, Sajak will be doing one last week of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune. The star-studded cast of that week will include Josh Gad, Regina Hall, Ellie Kemper, Justin Long, Joe Manganiello, Katharine McPhee, and more. Each of them will have the chance to win $1 million for the charity of their choosing.

Sajak retired from Wheel of Fortune back in June of last year. He had been hosting the game show since 1981.

“Well, the time has come to say goodbye,” he said at the end of his final show. “I have a few thanks and acknowledgments before I go, and I want to start with all of you watching out there. It’s been an incredible privilege to be invited into millions of homes night after night, year after year, decade after decade.”

“And I’ve always felt like the privilege came with the responsibility to keep this daily half hour a safe place for family fun,” Sajak continued. “No social issues, no politics, nothing embarrassing I hope, just a game.”

“But gradually it became more than that,” he concluded. “A place where kids learned their letters, where people from other countries honed their English skills, where families came together along with friends and neighbors, and entire generations. What an honor to play even a small part in all of that. Thank you for allowing me into your lives.”

Sajak Replaced By Ryan Seacrest

When Wheel of Fortune returned in September, Sajak was replaced by the longtime American Idol host Ryan Seacrest.

“Pat, congratulations on an incredible run with Wheel of Fortune!” Seacrest wrote on Instagram after Sajak’s retirement.

“Your dedication, charm, and wit have made the show a beloved part of American television for decades,” he added. “Your partnership with Vanna [White] has been nothing short of iconic, and together, you’ve created countless wonderful memories for viewers.”

Vanna White Honors Sajak

Sajak’s longtime Wheel of Fortune co-host Vanna White, who has continued on with the gameshow alongside Seacrest, bid an emotional farewell to him when he departed the program.

“As much fun as we had on camera, those memories, milestones and life events we shared with our families, outside the studio, are my favorite,” White, 68, said as she struggled to hold back tears. “We’ve watched our children grow up together, we’ve traveled all over the world, we’ve eaten hundreds of meals together. We’ve laughed, we’ve cried, we’ve celebrated.”
