Vanna White has been co-hosting Wheel of Fortune for 42 years. In a new interview, White is revealing the surprising aspect of this gig that truly makes it the best job in the world.

And it’s not the huge paycheck!

How Many Days Does White Work A Year?

If you think White, 68, is constantly slaving away on Wheel of Fortune, think again. While appearing on the Elvis Duran and the Morning Show last week, co-host Nate Marino admitted to White that he only recently learned that the iconic game show doesn’t air live every night.

“We film about 34 days a year,” White replied. “That’s it.”

“But [we film] six shows a day. Come on. You could feel bad for me,” she continued.

The hosts understandably were not having any of this, however.

“I do not feel sorry for you one bit,” Duran stated. “That sounds like a great job.”

“That’s six different dresses a day,” co-host Danielle Monaro chimed in to add.

“It is,” White responded with a smile.

Now consider: while exact figures aren’t avalaible, People reports that White had previously made $3 million per year. That’s a cool $88,000 per work day. For having fun!

White Is Off 331 Days A Year

Marino still could not get over just how many days off White has every year.

“So weird. You have 331 days off a year?” he asked her.

“He’s doing the math,” Duran noted.

“Yes, I guess so,” White said as the hosts laughed.

“And no one deserves it more than you,” Duran said. “You’re just the best.”

Social media users also couldn’t believe that White only has to work 34 days a year.

“34 days of work in a year and your net worth is over 80 million!!! Youuuu WIN!!,” one social media user commented. Another added, “This is why she looks 40.. She’s barely worked a day in her life, she’s cracked the code… the fountain of youth.”

“An American icon if ever there was one!” a third user wrote.

White Adjusts To Hosting Without Pat Sajak

White has been co-hosting Wheel of Fortune since 1982. She did this with the legendary Pat Sajak until he retired last year. Since then, White has been co-hosting with the American Idol host Ryan Seacrest.

In her latest interview, White admitted that it’s been an “adjustment” to get used to Sajak not being on Wheel of Fortune anymore.

“And not just for me,” White explained. “For everybody who watched for 41 years [that] Pat and I have been doing the show. And then Pat decided to retire, and he’s very happy. I saw him a couple of weeks ago. He looks great.”

“And Ryan took over, and he’s doing a great job,” she continued. “And he said, ‘Look, no one can ever replace Pat Sajak. I’m just here to fill in.'”

Co-host Monaro responded by laying out exactly how she thinks White should have handled Seacrest.

“I feel like you should be in charge now because, like, you’re Vanna White,” Monaro quipped to White. “Like, ‘You listen to me, Ryan Seacrest.’”

White, however, made it clear that she’s far too classy and humble to ever speak to someone that way.

“I think maybe he would listen to me, but I don’t have anything to say,” White said with a smile. “He’s doing a fine job.”
