Earlier this year, we reported that Meghan Markle, the wife of Prince Harry, had been accused of “ripping off” Pamela Anderson’s cooking show. Now, Anderson has finally broken her silence to address this controversy publicly for the first time.
Pamela Sounds Off
Fans of Pamela, 58, were enraged when Meghan, 44, debuted her new Netflix show With Love, Meghan. Indeed, they were quick to point out the many eerie similarities that Meghan’s show had with Pamela’s Prime video program Pamela’s Cooking With Love, which premiered in October of 2024.
Pamela was finally asked about this while appearing on Watch What Happens Live! on Sunday night.
“On a scale from one to 10, how much of a rip-off did you feel like With Love, Meghan was of your show, Pamela’s Cooking with Love?” host Andy Cohen asked.
“One,” Pamela replied. “I didn’t – I didn’t really look, but I mean, I didn’t invent cooking shows.”
A seemingly uncomfortable Pamela added that Meghan “is just doing her thing.”

Meghan Accused Of Copying Pamela
This drama began when Meghan released her first trailer for With Love, Meghan three months after Pamela’s Cooking With Love premiered. The similarities between the two were apparent right away, with some fans have even claiming that Meghan’s trailer is a “straight copy” of Pamela’s.
Check out the two trailers next to one another in the video below. Indeed, it can’t be denied that the similarities between the two are striking.
“From the similar aesthetic, titles and wardrobes to the familiar phrases and actions, frustrated fans took to X to point out all the ways in which they believe Meghan appears to have ‘copied’ Pamela’s concepts,” Daily Mail reported.
“For instance, the openings of both trailers include the stars walking in a garden admiring the produce, before inviting chefs into the kitchens as well as family and friends to try out the delicious meals,” the publication added.
At one point in her trailer, Pamela says, “I just always have wanted to take things to another level.” Meanwhile, in her own Netflix trailer, Meghan similarly gushes, “I’ve always loved taking something pretty ordinary and elevating it.”‘
Both Pamela and Meghan claim to constantly be trying to take in knowledge from the experts that they come across.
“I’m a sponge soaking it all in… I’m learning a lot,” Pamela says. Likewise, Meghan admits that she’s “just learning” as she’s seen trying out beekeeping.
On top of that, both shows feature “with love” in their respective names. Once again, Pamela’s teaser was released first, so she’d be the one who originally had this name.
Social Media Torches Meghan
It didn’t take long for social media to erupt with accusations that Meghan truly had blatantly copied Pamela.
“If you watch the trailer for Pamela’s new show, it’s a more authentic version of what Meghan was trying to achieve and it looks as though Meghan has copied everything!” one social media user commented. “The trailers are so similar it’s freaky.”
“Markle’s show is a straight copy of Pamela Anderson’s cooking and entertaining show. Go look at the trailer!” another outraged fan added. A third wrote, “I know I shouldn’t be surprised but I am. Pamela’s show looks authentic and like something I’d enjoy watching. I can’t believe Netflix didn’t see Meghan’s show as a complete rip off of this one!”
“And Markle is copying AGAIN. Some of it obvious, some of it subtle,” yet another social media user commented.
Even the renowned royal expert Angela Levin got in on the action, saying that “it’s obvious” that Meghan “stole” from Pamela’s trailer. Check out her full comments on this here.
Meghan Hit With Brutal Dose Of Karma
Pamela was clearly trying to take the high road when she was questioned about this. However, many fans still firmly believe that Meghan blatantly copied her show.
This ultimately blew up in Meghan’s face, as With Love, Meghan failed to crack the top 300 Netflix shows in terms of views for the first half of 2025. Instead, it came in at number 382, much to Meghan’s humiliation. In fact, the show flopped so spectacularly that it’s been reported that Netflix won’t be renewing Meghan’s $100 million contract when it expires next month.
