Earlier this month, we reported that the Oscar-winning star Nicole Kidman and her country music star husband Keith Urban had separated after 19 years of marriage. At the time, insiders were claiming that Kidman was desperately “fighting to save her marriage.” They also alleged that she’d felt “blindsided” by Urban wanting to separate.

Hours later, however, Kidman, 58, officially filed for divorce from Urban, 58. This came amidst rumors that Urban had already moved on with a “new girlfriend.”

Now, things have gotten even more chaotic for Kidman. Indeed, she’s found herself being drawn into the latest drama involving Taylor Sheridan, the creator of the beloved television show Yellowstone.

Sheridan Walks Away From Paramount

The world was stunned earlier this week when it was reported that Sheridan is walking away from Paramount. He has allegedly since signed a deal with NBCUniversal that is reportedly worth $1 billion.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Sheridan, 55, left Paramount due to multiple disagreements with Paramount’s new CEO David Ellison. This came after the company recently merged with Skydance Media.

One of these disagreements was over the budget for Sheridan’s spy thriller series Special Ops: Lioness, which stars Kidman and the Oscar-winning actress Zoe Saldana.

Kidman found herself being pulled into this conflict even further when Paramount reportedly cast her in a new series called Discretion without consulting Sheridan. This allegedly created potential scheduling conflicts for Kidman when it came to filming both shows. Sheridan was enraged by this, seeing it as a direct “lack of respect” for his projects.

Sheridan’s Final Straw

An insider told The Hollywood Reporter that Paramount had planned to talk to Sheridan about Kidman being cast in another show. However, Sheridan ended up finding out during a dinner with Kidman before they had a chance to speak with him.

This appears to have been the last straw for Sheridan, whose contract with Paramount ends in 2028. His new deal with NBCUniversal allows him to start making movies for them in 2026 and shows in 2029.

This is a huge blow for Paramount. Indeed, Sheridan’s hit show Yellowstone helped to put them on the map back in 2018. Yellowstone, which starred Kevin Costner and Kelly Reilly, ran for five majorly successful seasons, ending in 2024.

This came amidst conflict between Sheridan and Costner, who infamously declined to return to film part two of the fifth and final season. Costner made this decision because filming conflicted with that of Chapter 2 of his planned four-part Western movie series Horizon. Sheridan subsequently killed off Costner’s character John Dutton off-camera, much to the dismay of fans.

Kidman’s Divorce

Meanwhile, this new drama is the last thing that Kidman needs right now, given the turmoil going on in her own personal life.

On September 30, Kidman filed for divorce from Urban, who she had been married to for 19 years, citing “irreconcilable differences” at the time. They share two daughters: Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14. Kidman and Urban had secretly been separated since June.

“She didn’t want this,” a source told People Magazine after Kidman filed. “She has been fighting to save the marriage.”

Kidman and Sheridan have yet to comment on the latest controversy involving each of them both. Only time will tell how this all turns out for each of them!
