The country music star Morgan Wallen smirked as he sent a message to his “probation officer” in a new interview. This comes one year after Wallen was arrested for throwing a chair off a bar rooftop in Nashville, nearly hitting two police officers with it.

Wallen Addresses Arrest

Wallen, 31, plead guilty to charges of reckless endangerment without a deadly weapon over this incident, which occurred in April of 2024. He had initially faced three felony counts of reckless endangerment and one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct. However, Wallen ended up pleading guilty to two misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment.

Wallen was able to avoid jail time. Instead, he was sentenced to two years of probation. Wallen additionally had to serve seven days in a DUI center and pay a $350 fine.

On Sunday, Wallen sat down with Caleb Pressley’s for his YouTube show Sundae Conversations. There, Wallen raised eyebrows when he seemingly made light of his arrest.

“Is this your first time here?” Pressley asked. A visibly giddy Wallen smirked as he replied, “Yeah… hopefully I don’t violate my probation by being here.”

“Are you on probation right now?” a shocked Pressley questioned.

“Yeah…. shout out to my PO,” Wallen replied before bursting out laughing.

Wallen’s Arrest

Wallen was widely slammed for his April of 2024 arrest at the opening of the country music star Eric Church’s Chief’s Bar in Nashville. At the time, a source told People Magazine that Wallen had not been expected at the bar opening that night.

The insider added that Wallen had not been at the bar long when he suddenly threw the chair from the rooftop. The chair landed near two police officers. Had it hit them, they easily could have been seriously injured, or even killed.

“Morgan is generally a nice, fun person to hang out with, but when he gets going he doesn’t know when to stop,” the source lamented. “Morgan and alcohol is a problem and it’s been a problem that keeps coming back around.”

Wallen’s Apology

Wallen took to social media to apologize days after his arrest.

“I didn’t feel right publicly checking in until I made amends with some folks,” Wallen wrote on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. “I’ve touched base with Nashville law enforcement, my family, and the good people at Chief’s. I’m not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility.”

“I have the utmost respect for the officers working every day to keep us all safe,” he added. “Regarding my tour, there will be no change.”

Wallen Hasn’t Been In A Bar Since

Last month, Wallen revealed that he hasn’t set foot in a bar since his arrest.

“It’s definitely the best thing for me,” he said on an episode of Theo Von’s This Past Weekend podcast. “I mean, if you’re using a bar as a specific example, that’s definitely, that’s definitely, the best thing for me.”

“I ain’t been in a bar since the last time I was in a bar that everybody knows about,” he continued. “The most public time I was in a bar? That’s the last time I was in a bar.”
