The country music star Morgan Wallen shocked his fans on Saturday by canceling a concert of his at the last minute. He then took to social media to fire back at some “nonsense” rumors regarding this cancelation.
Wallen Cancels Concert
Wallen, 33, was set to perform in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Saturday night. Hours before showtime, however, Wallen took to his Instagram stories to say that he would no longer be able to perform at Acrisure Stadium.
“After talking with local officials and my team, there is no choice but to cancel tonight’s show due to severe adverse weather conditions expected throughout the rest of the day and night,” Wallen said.
Wallen went on to say that “the highest priority” is for the “safety” of his fans and his crew. He ended his message by saying that refunds will be available for those who had planned to attend.

Wallen Responds To ‘Nonsense’ Rumors
Later that day, Wallen returned to Instagram to post a video in which he tried to shoot down some “nonsense” rumors about the cancelation. Indeed, it was claimed online that Wallen had left town before the cancelation was confirmed by local officials.
“This morning, my team walked on my bus and told me they had been consulting with local officials and that I should cancel my show in Pittsburgh tonight and I said, ‘Why?’” Wallen said in the video. “They said that there was going to be strong winds in the area, and I said, ‘OK.’ So, that is what I did and that was the information I had in the moment, and I trusted my team.”
“I understand that wind hasn’t gotten to Pittsburgh yet,” he continued. “The truth of the matter is, I have a large stage that, in those conditions, could become fatal to a lot of folks around it. So, I did the best I could with the information I had in that moment.”
“I’ve been seeing a lot of nonsense about me that is simply not true, and I just wanted to clear the air,” Wallen concluded. “I think my true fans know that that’s not how I operate in general, but I had to say it. Ya’ll take care.”

Social Media Users Blast Wallen
This came after social media users expressed their fury at Wallen for canceling his Pittsburgh show.
“Morgan wallen cancelling his show last night is just hilarious because i walked outside after my shift at 11pm and my car was completely dry,” one user wrote on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. “No rain in sight. that man was already on his way back to Tennessee.”
“A Saturday cancelation even as weather clears up has caused a heel turn that may make him never welcomed back. Unbelievable turn of events,” added Mike Asti, a managing editor at WV Sports Now, Pittsburgh Sports Now.
“Acrisure stadium officials fuming,” commented Marty Griffin of KDKA Radio. “Sources confirm … Wallen left town on plane before they even had meeting and demanded they announce the cancellation after he was in the air.”
This cancelation came days after Wallen stirred controversy by flipping a piano onstage during a concert in Denver, Colorado. Wallen had become frustrated when he found that the piano was not working as he performed his song “Sand In My Boots.” The country music star eventually became so angry that he flipped the piano over, breaking it in the process.
