Miley Cyrus got some bad news this week as insiders are warning that her career may be heading in the same negative direction as Katy Perry’s. Indeed, it’s been reported that Perry’s career has been “ruined” by the backlash over her infamous 11 minute Blue Origin flight to space back in April.
‘The Beginning Of The End’
Cyrus, 32, released her latest album “Something Beautiful” on May 30. Unfortunately for her, however, reviews of it have been mixed at best. Making matters even worse, the album’s lead track “End of the World” debuted at only 52 on the Billboard Hot 100. This has led some to wonder if Cyrus’ career is coming crashing down.
“Her ego is not allowing her to realize that this might be the beginning of the end,” an insider close to Cyrus told Daily Mail. This source went on to express fears that Cyrus may suffer the same fate as Perry, 40.
“We aren’t going to see her go to space, so things aren’t as desperate just yet as they can be,” the insider quipped. This was a reference to Perry’s space flight. In the months since then, Perry has been caught in a career doom loop. Cyrus is reportedly desperate to avoid the same thing happening to her.
“She knows that you always have another chance,” the source explained. “I mean look at her father, he was a one hit wonder for how long and then ‘Old Town Road’ came about and he’s still making waves.”
This was a reference to Cyrus’ father Billy Ray Cyrus, 63. He was best known for decades for his 1992 hit song “Achey Breaky Heart.”

Cyrus Heckled By Fans
Last week, we reported that Cyrus was heckled by fans at premiere of her album’s accompanying film at the Tribeca Film Festival. There, audience members demanded that Cyrus sing. They alleged that the screening had been marketed to them as a concert.
“She was flabbergasted when her fans called her out to sing, and she will be ready the next time when that happens,” the source said.
Cyrus revealed last month that she suffers from Reinke’s edema, a vocal cord disorder that causes swelling and polyp-like growths. However, the disorder is also responsible for her signature sound.
“I have this very large polyp on my vocal cord which is giving me a lot of the tone and the texture that has made me who I am, but it’s extremely difficult to perform with because it’s like running a marathon with ankle weights on,” she admitted.
Despite this, Cyrus still managed to appease her fans at the Tribeca Film Festival. She did so by performing an impromptu a cappella rendition of her 2009 hit song “The Climb.”

Can Cyrus Bounce Back?
Even after her latest setbacks, the insider still believes that Cyrus can recover from this.
“She is a song away from being back. She is a movie role removed from being back on track,” the source concluded. “Miley is rich, young and not worried about anything as she has plenty of time to right the ship.”
Perry, however, might not be so lucky, as her career situation looks far more dire at the moment. Only time will tell if Cyrus and Perry can ever truly bounce back!
