Over the past few months, rumors that began as whispers about President Obama dating Hollywood star Jennifer Aniston have morphed into the notion that Barack and Michelle Obama may be headed for a divorce. According to these claims, the former first couple are living “separate lives.”
On Wednesday, Michelle added fuel to these rumors when she used the first episode of her new podcast to complain about Barack, doing so seemingly as much as she possibly could.
Michelle Sounds Off Against Barack
Earlier this week, we reported that Michelle had announced that she is launching a new podcast with her older, nearly identical-looking brother Craig Robinson. Their podcast is called IMO With Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson, and the first episode dropped two days ago.
In the premiere episode of this podcast, Michelle wasted no time in complaining about her husband. She began by making it abundantly clear that she never wanted him to run for president in the first place.
“I couldn’t have gotten through eight years in the White House without my big brother,” Michelle, 61, said of Craig, 62. “Being married to the president of the United States [is a] thing that none of us kind of banked on. We knew Barack was smart and ambitious, but, you know.”
“You talked me into supporting his run,” she told Craig. “And he [Barack] was smart enough to know that he needed to come to you and sell you on the idea. Because I was definitely like, no, no way.”

Michelle Blasts Barack For His Constant Tardiness
This wasn’t the only thing that Michelle took issue with Barack on in the first episode of her podcast. Indeed, she also made a point of expressing her disdain for his constant tardiness. It appears that this was an issue from very early on in their relationship. The couple met in 1988, and married in 1992.
“Barack had to adjust to what ‘on time’ was,” Michelle explained. “You know, I’ve got this husband who, when it’s time to leave, he’s getting up and going to the bathroom. And I was like, dude, like three o’clock departure means you’ve done all that. It’s like, don’t start looking for your glasses, you know, at the three o’clock departure.”
“He’s improved over 30 years of marriage,” Michelle then admitted, albeit somewhat begrudgingly.
Michelle went on to hint that she and Barack are living “separate lives” when she referenced their two adult daughters.
“Malia and Sasha, if they’re doing anything with me, they are early. They’ve learned to snap to it,” Michelle said.
It certainly doesn’t seem like there are many full-family activities happening in the Obama household these days! Listen to Michelle talk more about this in the clip below.
Obama Divorce Rumors
Rumors that Barack and Michelle Obama are divorcing have been spreading for months. However, they escalated in a big way back in January, when Michelle attended neither Donald Trump’s inauguration nor Jimmy Carter’s funeral. Instead, Barack had to attend these official events solo. Michelle was the only living former First Lady not in attendance at each of these events.
“I have been hearing this rumor that the Obamas are getting a divorce by reputable people. I’m not talking about TMZ, I’m not talking about Perez Hilton, although I love him, he’s my friend,“ Meghan McCain said on political reporter Tara Palmeri’s podcast last month. ”I’m talking about like very serious journalists telling me that they’re hearing that the Obama divorce rumors are true.”
“We’ve heard that for a long time,” replied Tara, who has long covered Washington politics. “Like I just heard that they live separate lives.”

The Obamas have yet to publicly address their divorce rumors directly. However, given how rampant these rumors are at the moment, it’s telling that Michelle would use the first episode of her new podcast to criticize her husband to this extent. Only time will tell if the Obamas ever do end up splitting for good!
