Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are reportedly bracing themselves for some financial misfortune as they prepare for their $100 million Netflix deal to end in 2025.

Meghan And Harry’s Desperate Situation

Harry and Meghan signed the Netflix deal back in 2020 after stepping down as senior royals and moving to Southern California. Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams recently spoke out to say that a renewal of the contract is “absolutely pivotal” for Meghan and Harry.

“Their separation of work is being tried out, and it worked perfectly well in the sense there have been no glitches,” Fitzwilliams told GB News. “What they need is her cookery series for Netflix. What is absolutely pivotal is the renewal of the contract with Netflix next year, so precisely what happens in the coming months financially is vital.”

“They lost Spotify a while ago, and it doesn’t seem there is anything substantial financially that we know of that is coming up,” he continued. “When American Riviera Orchard and Meghan’s cookery show is launched, that will certainly give her a good deal more than her occasional appearance.”

But without an extended deal, the couple will be jobless.

Meghan’s Cooking Show

Meghan, 43, is believed to be preparing to release a new Netflix show that will focus on “the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship.” She allegedly filmed this project back in June. No release date for it has been named at this time, however.

A Netflix source recently told Daily Mail that this cooking show will be “make or break” for Meghan and Harry when it comes to having any future in television.

“It’s make or break,” another source confirmed. “People say Netflix are exhausted. It’s so much work with her and, bluntly, the ‘deliverable’ does not seem to be worth it.”

This comes weeks after Meghan and Harry’s latest Netflix project Polo premiered. Unfortunately for them, this docuseries flopped both critically and with fans.

“I don’t think anyone was expecting that to have huge ratings,” Fitzwilliams said of Polo.

The Netflix source said that after Polo flopped so badly, “There won’t be another deal. There may be one offs but that’s it.”

A Critical Year For Meghan And Harry

In the end, Fitzwilliams believes that 2025 will be a crucial year when it comes to Meghan and Harry’s future.

“They have a profile at a certain level. Harry and Meghan were in Times 100 in 2020, so they have a brand, they have got their admirers, and they have got a profile,” Fitzwilliams concluded. “They’ve changed their tactic, and we will see what it adds up to in the next year.”

It’s undoubtable that nobody is more stressed by this than Meghan. Indeed, she spent years trying to make it as an A-list actress before her marriage to Harry. Though Meghan was eventually cast on the cable network show Suits, she never achieved the A-list fame that she craved until she became engaged to Harry in 2017.

After marrying in 2018, Meghan and Harry shocked the world when they stepped down as senior royals in 2020. They then moved across the world to Southern California, where Meghan was born and raised. There, Meghan scored a Netflix deal the likes of which she only could have dreamt of during her days as a struggling actress.

Only time will tell how 2025 goes for Meghan and Harry!
