It’s been five years since Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry stepped down as senior royals. They then moved across the world to Southern California, where Meghan was born and raised.
For the past few years, Meghan and Harry have been living in the ritzy area of Montecito. There, they are surrounded by many neighbors that are A-list Hollywood stars. This is seemingly a dream come true for Meghan, as she spent years trying and failing to achieve A-list status as an actress prior to her marriage to Harry.
Unfortunately for Meghan, however, this dream has turned into a nightmare as of late. Much to Meghan’s humiliation, new reports indicate that her A-list Montecito neighbors have turned on her. Indeed, it seems that Meghan’s famous neighbors are secretly laughing at her behind her back.
Meghan ‘Doesn’t Get It’
“When the princess-thing didn’t work out, she reverted to the person she was when [Harry] found her,” a Montecito source told Daily Mail of Meghan. “She’s trying to say she’s exceedingly normal, which she isn’t. It’s all very LA actress.”
“It’s glaringly obvious she doesn’t get it,” the insider continued.
“It proves people don’t really change and all along she just wanted to be an influencer and TV star,” the source concluded.

Meghan’s Plummeting Popularity
This comes as Meghan’s popularity is plummeting in the polls. A recent survey found that just 41 percent of American adults hold a positive view of her. In contrast, one in four Americans actively dislike Meghan. Meanwhile, 17 percent of American adults say that they have a worse opinion of Meghan than they did when she and Harry moved to the U.S. in 2020.
“If Harry thought his American wife was going to be Miss USA, he’s sorely mistaken,” The Mail columnist Kennedy wrote. “Remember those 2020 rumors about Meghan considering a run for the US Senate? PTA president would be a stretch now.”
“Frankly, I think it’s sad,” she added. “These moneyed Montecitans whispering behind Meghan’s back must feel like a devastating blow to a woman who seems like she’s finding it impossible to fit in anywhere.”
This also comes one month after we reported that Meghan’s popularity had hit an all-time low in the United Kingdom. This YouGov poll found that just 20% of U.K. adults had a favorable view of Meghan. At the same time, a staggering 65% of U.K. adults had a negative view of her.

Meghan And Harry’s History
Meghan and Harry married in 2018. Just two years later, in early 2020, they stepped down as senior royals. The couple then moved across the world to Southern California, where they remain to this day.
In the years since then, Meghan and Harry have bashed the royal family seemingly every chance they’ve gotten. They’ve done so in books, interviews, podcasts, and documentaries. While this initially garnered Meghan and Harry fame and fortune, this anti-royal family strategy appears to have since backfired on them. Indeed, it seems that the vast majority of the public has taken the side of the royals over Meghan and Harry.
In the end, with even her own neighbors in the ritzy celebrity conclave of Montecito turning on her, it’s not looking good for Meghan. Only time will tell if Meghan is ever able to bounce back from this!
