Last month, we reported that the Oscar-winning star Nicole Kidman and her country music star husband Keith Urban had separated after 19 years of marriage. At the time, insiders were claiming that Kidman was desperately “fighting to save her marriage.” They also alleged that she’d felt “blindsided” by Urban wanting to separate.
Hours later, however, Kidman, 58, officially filed for divorce from Urban, 58. This came amidst rumors that Urban had already moved on with a “new girlfriend.”
Now, insiders are claiming that Kidman has launched a plan to get revenge on Urban as their bitter divorce continues.
Kidman’s Revenge Plan
Though she was initially devastated by this split, Kidman is reportedly now ready for some rebound fun with another man.
“Nicole’s ready to turn this into a tit for tat game, with her trying to show him up by hooking up with someone young and hot,” an insider told Radar Online. “She’s still very focused on Keith. But her friends are hoping that once she actually does get with another man it will help her get past this betrayal.”
“Nicole may get out there and have fun but she won’t flaunt it,” the source continued. “Although she’s miles away from finding something serious again, that hasn’t stopped her girlfriends from offering to set her up. When she’s ready, of course.”
As for Urban, he’s been making things worse for himself by “refusing” to confirm whether or not he’s moved on with another woman.
“Keith is refusing to come clean about what’s really going on, but everyone is saying there’s another woman. And all signs are pointing to it being this much younger guitar player,” another source alleged.
This was a reference to Urban’s 25 year-old guitarist Maggie Baugh. The two of them are rumored to be an item, although sources close to Baugh have attempted to refute this.
Urban ‘Embarrassed’ By Divorce
This comes after other insiders claimed that Urban is “embarrassed” and “in hiding” amidst this divorce battle.
“Things are just too awkward right now. And Keith just doesn’t have the confidence to face all the press,” a source close to Urban told Woman’s Day last month. “He’s got paps hunting him down and he’s no longer taking direct calls. Part of him is embarrassed to show his face on a red carpet until things settle down with his divorce.”
Urban even skipped the premiere event of his new reality television competition show The Road. The event was held on 15 October on the rooftop of Blake Shelton’s Ole Red Bar in Nashville, Tennessee. Though Urban lives in Nashville, he was nowhere to be found.
“He’s annoyed to have missed this. But part of him is embarrassed to show his face on a red carpet until things settle down with his divorce,” the source explained. “The last thing he needs is to overshadow his new show with all his personal issues.”
“He knows he’s being painted as the bad guy. And he doesn’t want that to be the focus of The Road. He owes that to the contestants and crew,” the insider added.
Kidman Feels ‘Resentment’ Towards Urban
As for Kidman, those close to her are saying that she is feeling “so much resentment” towards Urban. Indeed, he was the “love of her life.”
“In so many respects Nicole is doing brilliantly,” a source close to Kidman told Star Magazine. “She’s been a total pro throughout this, and her number one goal is to stay strong and not crumble for the sake of her daughters, as well as herself.”
The insider went on to say that this is “easier said than done.”
“Keith was the love of her life, and it’s not that simple to just turn those feelings off like a tap,” the source concluded. “She’s been on autopilot, cramming her schedule like crazy and sticking tight to friends who are longing to set her up for some fun once she gives the word.”
