Last month, we reported that the Oscar-winning star Nicole Kidman and her country music star husband Keith Urban had separated after 19 years of marriage. At the time, insiders were claiming that Kidman was desperately “fighting to save her marriage.” They also alleged that she’d felt “blindsided” by Urban wanting to separate.
Hours later, however, Kidman, 58, officially filed for divorce from Urban, 58. This came amidst rumors that Urban had already moved on with a “new girlfriend.”
Many fans were shocked by Kidman and Urban’s split, as they had always seemed like one of the most devoted couples in the entertainment world. Now, insiders are speaking out to reveal one of the shocking things that allegedly led to the downfall of their marriage. Indeed, it seems that Kidman’s “sexual reawakening” may have been the final straw for Urban.
Kidman’s ‘Sexual Reawakening’
“He was tired of hearing her rave about her sexual reawakening and animal attraction to her costars and has been living his own life,” an insider told Radar Online.
Last year, Kidman starred in the erotic drama Babygirl, which landed her a Golden Globe nomination. While promoting the extremely sexual movie, Kidman shocked fans by saying that she was “so turned on” filming explicit sex scenes with her 28-year-old costar Harris Dickinson.
“There were times when we were shooting where I was like, ‘I don’t want to orgasm anymore,'” Kidman outrageously confessed. “I don’t care if I am never touched again in my life … it was almost like a burnout.”
What?! No wonder that didn’t sit well with Urban!

Urban Allegedly Stops Interview
Urban showed that this didn’t sit well with him at all when he hung up on a radio interview in July of this year. This came after he was asked about watching his wife’s sex scenes.
“I think his team hung up on us because they didn’t want us to ask that question,” the producer could be heard saying on air. “He’s gone – see you, Keith!”
Unbeknownst to the public, Urban and Kidman had secretly separated one month before this interview. Even so, it seems that Kidman’s sex scenes were still a sore spot for Urban. This indicates that the steamy scenes really did play a role in the disintegration of his marriage.
“Their lives were moving in different directions. Once he set up his own place, the writing was on the wall,” one source said of Urban and Kidman. “People close to Keith felt like the split was inevitable.”
“Keith has moved on and has been open with Nicole about where he stands,” another Urban insider told US Weekly last month. “The two had grown apart quietly over time. By the end, the decision to separate was more about acceptance than surprise.”
Kidman Is ‘Pushing Forward’
As for Kidman, she allegedly spent the summer desperately trying to save her marriage.
“She didn’t want this,” a source told People Magazine after Kidman filed for divorce. “She has been fighting to save the marriage.”
Moving forward, Kidman is reportedly putting her energy into her children and her career.
“She is pushing forward in a good way,” said a source close to Kidman. “She isn’t necessarily trying to find her new normal throughout all of this, because they had been quietly separated for a while now.”
“This next chapter feels more like a transition than a shock,” this Kidman insider concluded.
