Earlier this week, we reported that the Oscar-winning star Nicole Kidman and her country music star husband Keith Urban had separated after 19 years of marriage. At the time, insiders were claiming that Kidman was desperately “fighting to save her marriage.” This is because the split was allegedly Urban’s idea.
Hours later, however, Kidman, 58, officially filed for divorce from Urban, 57. This came amidst rumors that Urban had already moved on with a “new girlfriend.”
Now, Kidman has gotten more bad news as her divorce battle with Urban escalates.
New Court Documents
For many years, Kidman has been juggling a busy career in Hollywood with raising her and Urban’s two teenage daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14. New court documents have just been released revealing just how much responsibility Kidman will have with the girls amidst her divorce.
Kidman has been officially named as the primary residential parent of both Sunday and Faith. Indeed, she will have the girls for 306 days of the year. Meanwhile, her estranged husband will have them for just 59 days.
Neither Kidman nor Urban will be paying child support. Instead, Urban has “already prepaid all child support obligations.” This will leave Kidman with the vast majority of the parenting responsibilities in the years to come.
For a busy actress like Kidman, being a basically full-time parent will likely be far from easy. Kidman is known for rarely taking breaks from acting, as she enjoys tackling one project after another.
Kidman ‘Never Stops Working’
“She never stops working,” an insider told Yahoo News. “And rarely does she film in Nashville, so it is going to be one big, transatlantic struggle for her.”
Nashville is where Kidman and Urban have been raising their daughters. Kidman typically leaves for months at a time to do her Hollywood work.
Even so, Kidman is known for being a devoted mother. She often makes arrangements to have her daughters join her on set.
Over the summer, Kidman brought the girls along with her when she filmed the sequel to her and Sandra Bullock’s 1998 movie Practical Magic in London. There, Kidman rented a a lavish Hampstead mansion that was once home to singer Boy George for £65,000 a month. The home boasts five bedrooms, a movie theater, and even a meditation room, making it the perfect place for Kidman’s teenage daughters to spend a summer.
“Nicole brought the girls with her to London. They seemed to have a great time,” the source stated. “Of course Nicole had domestic help, but she wasn’t going to leave them in Nashville so she made arrangements for them to come to the U.K. with her. That’s pretty standard for her. She works, but by the looks of her recent trip to London, she loves being a mother too.”
Kidman ‘Takes Her Role As A Mother Seriously’
Though the divorce was only just made public, Kidman and Urban actually separated in June. Sunday and Faith were aware of this during their summer in London.
Though the next few years will be tough for Kidman as she juggles work with her parenting duties, those close to her are confident that she will figure it out.
“There is always that flexibility for Nicole so that the kids can be there,” the source concluded. “She takes her role as a mother seriously and there are always plans put in place for her to be around her girls.”
This is clearly an extremely difficult time for Kidman, Urban, and their daughters. Please join us in saying a prayer for them as they navigate this new chapter of their lives!
