Earlier this month, we reported that the Oscar-winning star Nicole Kidman and her country music star husband Keith Urban had separated after 19 years of marriage. At the time, insiders were claiming that Kidman was desperately “fighting to save her marriage.” They also alleged that she’d felt “blindsided” by Urban wanting to separate.
Hours later, however, Kidman, 58, officially filed for divorce from Urban, 58. This came amidst rumors that Urban had already moved on with a “new girlfriend.”
Now, insiders are claiming that Kidman and Urban’s two teenage daughters have taken her side in this divorce. Indeed, this is undoubtedly a truly crushing blow for Urban.
Urban And Kidman’s Daughters Side With Mom
Urban and Kidman met back in 2005, and they married the next year in 2006. They went on to welcome two daughters together: Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14. Sadly, Kidman filed for divorce on September 30, citing “irreconcilable differences” at the time.
According to insiders, Sunday and Faith have taken Kidman’s side in this divorce. The reason behind this is allegedly Urban’s “fiery temper.”
“They love their dad, but Nicole’s been the constant,” a family insider told #ShutterScoop. “She’s been there for every school event, every bedtime. Keith’s been touring, filming — gone.”
The source went on to say that Kidman has been the calming presence that keeps their household in Nashville, Tennessee grounded. In contrast, Urban’s “fiery” nature has led to tensions at home.
“The girls have seen who held it all together,” the insider explained. “They feel safest with Nicole.”
Kidman Stays Calm – Urban ‘Heartbroken’
In the weeks since she filed for divorce, Kidman has refused to badmouth Urban to their girls. Instead, her focus has been on creating stability.
“She’s turning their home into a sanctuary,” said a friend of Kidman’s. “There’s yoga, journaling, family dinners — all about healing.”
In contrast, Urban has been struggling to reconnect with his daughters over the past month.
“He’s heartbroken,” a music insider claimed of Urban. “He knows he’s losing more than a marriage — he’s losing time with his girls.”
Another family source concluded by saying that Kidman “has the daughters emotionally and physically. The loyalty lines are drawn — and they’re standing with Mom.”
Kidman Hits Paris Fashion Week With Daughters
Just one week after she filed for divorce, Kidman took both their daughters to France for Paris Fashion Week. There, the three of them presented a united front when they appeared together at the Chanel spring 2026 fashion show.
“She’s sad and moving on with her life — and making sure her kids are taken care of,” a source told Page Six at the time.
Meanwhile, Urban has been in hiding when he’s not performing on tour. According to those close to him, this is because he’s “embarrassed” by the split.
“Things are just too awkward right now, and Keith just doesn’t have the confidence to face all the press,” an Urban insider told Women’s Day. “He’s got paps hunting him down, and he’s no longer taking direct calls.”
“Part of him is embarrassed to show his face on a red carpet until things settle down with his divorce,” this source added.
