Last month, we reported that the Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman and her country music star husband Keith Urban had separated after 19 years of marriage. At the time, insiders were claiming that Kidman was desperately “fighting to save her marriage.” They also alleged that she’d felt “blindsided” by Urban wanting to separate.
Hours later, however, Kidman, 58, officially filed for divorce from Urban, 58. This came amidst rumors that Urban had already moved on with a “new girlfriend.”
Now, Urban has shocked some of his fans by performing at Mar-a-Lago. Indeed, he took the stage there last Saturday at a party that was attended by Donald Trump. Given the fact that Kidman is believed to be a Democrat, and that she works in the extremely liberal world of Hollywood, this is likely not something Urban would have been permitted to do prior to the split.
Urban Performs At Mar-a-Lago
Urban, 58, performed a cover of the singer Chappell Roan’s hit song “Pink Pony Club.” He sang this at a private party at Mar-a-Lago on Saturday, November 15. The party was hosted by the Australian billionaire Anthony Pratt, and it was attended by President Trump himself. Indeed, Trump was seen sitting at a dinner table with Pratt as Urban sang.
Urban, who is also from Australia, additionally sang a cover of Bob Marley’s “Is This Love.” In recent concerts of his, he’s been incorporating “Pink Pony Club” into his performances. The song is about a girl leaving her small southern town in search of stardom and love in California. The girl in the song ultimately finds exactly what she’s looking for, which touched Urban to his core.
“When I heard that song, I just almost cried,” Urban explained back in April. “Who doesn’t wanna find a safe place, wherever that is? You just wanna find your people — doesn’t matter what that is, just somewhere where you finally realize you belong there. God, that speaks to me.”

Urban And Kidman’s Political History
During his marriage to Kidman, Urban attempted to stay out of politics. While Kidman has stayed relatively quiet about politics, she is believed to be a Democrat. The Moulin Rouge star is known to have donated to Hillary Clinton’s campaign in the past.
Urban, however, has indicated that he may not be liberal in the past. Back in 2017, Urban was asked if he’d consider performing at Trump’s White House after he was elected the first time. In response, Urban played it coy instead of outright refusing.
“I would like to probably answer that question when it comes up, but I’m a citizen, and I like to do what’s right,” Urban said at the time.
In September of 2024, when asked if he’d be endorsing Trump or Kamala Harris in the presidential election, Urban once again dodged the question.
“I’m often amazed that people don’t look to artists’ work — they’re pretty clear on who they are and their views, and I’m no different,” he told The Times when asked this question. “I play to extremely diverse audiences in every way, politically and pronoun, age groups, ethnicity.”
Has Urban Been Conservative All Along?
Perhaps Urban has been a secret conservative all along. Had he expressed even remotely rightwing, pro-Trump views during his marriage to Kidman, it would have put her status as an A-list actress in the radically liberal world of Hollywood at risk. That’s why it would be somewhat understandable if Urban decided to keep his conservative views to himself for the sake of his wife and family.
Now that Urban is single, however, he is free to do what he wants to do. It says a lot that less than two months after Kidman filed for divorce, Urban is defying both her and her fellow liberal elites of Hollywood by performing at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate.
While we haven’t taken sides in this divorce, we applaud Urban for sticking it to liberal Hollywood with this Mar-a-Lago concert. God bless you, Keith Urban, and rock on!
