Earlier this year, we reported that the comedian Rosie O’Donnell had fled the United States to move to Ireland.
Now, her fellow comedian Kathy Griffin is speaking out to offer up a truly bizarre theory about O’Donnell and President Donald Trump. Indeed, we would say that you can’t make this stuff up, but it appears that Griffin did just that!
Griffin’s Crazy O’Donnell Theory
Griffin, 64, recently appeared on Chelsea Handler’s Dear Chelsea podcast. There, Griffin whined that she lost 75 percent of her friends after her infamous 2017 photoshoot in which she simulated a beheaded Trump. She claims that she still gets backlash for the photo to this day. Despite this, Griffin believes that this backlash was a massive “overreaction.”
These days, Griffin believes that “Trump and his machine” are targeting O’Donnell for the same reason that they allegedly did to her, in her mind.
“When my incident happened, it was three days after Robert Mueller was appointed,” Griffin said. “I think that’s why he used me as that deflection. I think he went after Rosie last weekend because he’s on videotape with Jeffrey Epstein dancing at a party with minors.”
What?! How do these radical leftists come up with this stuff?!
Trump Rips Into O’Donnell
Griffin was seemingly referring to comments that Trump made about O’Donnell on his Truth Social platform on July 12.
“Because of the fact that Rosie O’Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship,” he wrote. “She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”
O’Donnell fired back the next day from her new home in Ireland.
“Hey Donald — you’re rattled again? 18 years later and I still live rent-free in that collapsing brain of yours,” O’Donnell wrote on Instagram. “You call me a threat to humanity — but I’m everything you fear: a loud woman a queer woman a mother who tells the truth an American who got out of the country b4 u set it ablaze.”
“You build walls — I build a life for my autistic kid in a country where decency still exists,” she continued. O’Donnell went on to claim that Trump craves “loyalty — I teach my children to question power.”
Not stopping there, O’Donnell alleged that Trump sells “fear on golf courses — I make art about surviving trauma. You lie, you steal, you degrade — I nurture, I create, I persist. You are everything that is wrong with America — and I’m everything you hate about what’s still right with it.”
O’Donnell concluded her rant by comparing President Trump to a widely hated Game of Thrones character, writing, “You want to revoke my citizenship? Go ahead and try, King Joffrey with a tangerine spray tan. I’m not yours to silence I never was, Rosie.”
O’Donnell Flees America Over Trump
Both Griffin and O’Donnell have long been known as one of the most obsessively anti-Trump celebrities in Hollywood. Given how vehemently anti-Trump the entertainment world is, that’s saying a lot!
In fact, O’Donnell despises Trump so much that she moved across the globe just to get away from him. Indeed, she shocked the world when she fled the U.S. and moved to Ireland with her 12 year-old child Clay back in January.
In June, O’Donnell admitted to the former CNN host Chris Cuomo that she fled America because of Donald Trump’s presidential victory. She even described this move as being one of “self-preservation,” since she greatly struggled during Trump’s first presidency.
“During his first go-round, it was very difficult, and I got myself into some bad places,” said O’Donnell. “You know, I was very, very depressed. I was overeating, I was overdrinking. I was so depressed, Chris.”
Does O’Donnell Regret This Move?
In a May interview, O’Donnell claimed to have no regrets about making this move.
“Never, for one moment since I arrived here, did I regret my choice,” O’Donnell told Variety at the time. “People have been so welcoming, so accepting, and they have a different view of celebrity in the culture here. They are not prioritized over other people.”
In another video posted to TikTok, however, O’Donnell admitted that “it’s not easy moving to another country.”

O’Donnell can claim that she lives “rent-free” in Trump’s head all that she wants to. However, it’s clear that Trump is the one actually living rent-free in both hers and Griffin’s.
In the end, all that O’Donnell and Griffin are accomplishing with their anti-Trump rants is showing the world how unhinged they each really are. Sad!
