Earlier this month, we reported that Princess Kate Middleton was officially “cancer free” after finally completing her chemotherapy treatments. Now, the 42 year-old wife of Prince William has returned to work for the first time since this was announced.
Kate Returns To Work
Thankfully, it looks like Kate is well enough to resume the duties that make her so popular.
On Tuesday, Kate held a meeting at Windsor Castle that focused on her passion project of early childhood development. This meeting was officially recorded in the court circular, which is the official record of engagements that are done by working royal family members.
“The Princess of Wales, Joint Patron, the Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, this afternoon held an Early Years Meeting at Windsor Castle,” the Court Circular states.
Throughout the rest of the year, Kate is reportedly planning to carry out “a handful” of duties.
“The report from The Telegraph is accurate,” a Kensington Palace spokesperson told Fox News. “Any other details about her upcoming engagements would be posted at the Court Circular online.”
This was Kate’s first recorded meeting since she announced her cancer diagnosis to the world back in March. Kate never specified the type of cancer that she had. Instead, she only revealed that it was detected during “planned abdominal surgery” in January. She added that she would be undergoing “preventative chemotherapy.”
In the months that she was undergoing treatment, Kate was only seen in public a few times. She attended the Trooping the Colour back in June. One month later, she attended the men’s singles final at Wimbledon along with her daughter Princess Charlotte, 9.

Kate Reveals She’s ‘Cancer Free’
On September 9, Kate revealed that she is “cancer free” in a video message that featured William and their three children.
“As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment,” Kate began in the video. “The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.”
“The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you,” she continued. “With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything.”
Kate Is ‘Looking Forward To Getting Back To Work’
Kate went on to say that while she’s “cancer free,” she knows that she still has a long road to recovery ahead of her.
“Doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus,” she said. “Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes. I am however looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can.”
“Despite all that has gone before, I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life,” she added. “”William and I are so grateful for the support we have received and have drawn great strength from all those who are helping us at this time. Everyone’s kindness, empathy and compassion has been truly humbling.”
